Toning Inner Thighs

Recommended Posts

I am just over 6 weeks post-op and have lost 35 pounds. I was a regular exerciser before surgery (strength training and cardio 5-6x a week). As I lose more weight, I notice that my thighs are getting a big smaller, but my inner thighs are still really jiggly and blubbery and I'm really self-conscious about them. Not only that, they are uncomfortable when I wear shorts, skirts, and dresses. I have a lot more weight to lose and I've slowly been getting back into exercise with the permission of my surgeon. When I get fully back into the swing of things, I tend to do a lot of running, squats, lunges, and plyometrics. I am wondering: what are the best exercises for toning inner thighs? I do not go to a gym - I have weights, a treadmill, and bands at home that I use to work out. Thanks in advance!

I'll be following as I already have extra skin at the very top, inner thighs and I hate it! I can only imagine it will get worse when I get the surgery. Mine looks like this top photo found on this page. I'm really thinking nothing but plastic surgery will fix it down the road, sadly.

I still have jiggly thighs. I've had a lot of plastic surgery but didn't do my thighs because they weren't too awful, and I'm in my 60s, so my days of wearing short skirts and short shorts are long past. But I might have considered it if I was younger. If you just have a little loose skin, strength training might really help, but if there's a lot of it, plastic surgery might be your only recourse.

Dang, not the answers I was hoping for! 😂 @SummerTimeGirl my thighs also resemble the photo you are talking about. I'm not sure I care enough about the physical aspect to get plastic surgery (and I don't think I could afford it - teacher's salary, here!).

You're not alone. Doubt I will ever be able to afford it either.

Yeah, strength training will only help so much as you can re-fill the skin with muscle. Unless you can create some muscle in the equivalent volume of your lost fat, you will most likely have flappiness up in there.

P.S. Mine are pretty flappy, but mostly only noticeable when I'm wearing short shorts that squeeze everything out, lol.

Oh well.... at least I will always have 'someone' cheering me on when I am running 😂😂

Certain body parts like my neck looked really bad at first. Then even with losing more weight things firmed up. You can try doing hip abduction and adduction exercises (google that) but once you hit your goal weight and give it a few months to settle you get a better idea of how things will be long term.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
