Does anybody ever gain a little weight before surgery ? Mine is going up and down .

I gained some. I was afraid I was going to be one of the people who had a hard time eating certain things afterwards but that is definitely not the case. In fact my husband and I went to roadhouse to Celebrate my father (who has passed away) on Father’s Day and we split a cheeseburger. I am three and a half months out and I ate half of my half (a quarter) and was stuffed to the brim but I didn’t have any issues with the hamburger or the bread even. Any yes I know that bread is not a good choice in the losing phase but this was a one time thing (we never eat out) and I skipped a snack to make up for the calories.

Premiere Protein makes cafe latte that you may like as well. The ready made ones have caffeine in them but the powder form does not. Just as another option.

LOVE the Café Latte from Premier Protein! Even better, I like to take a Premier Protein caramel and add my own coffee.

I’m in Canada so I can’t get the Cafe Latte flavour 😭 Once the border opens (and doesn’t require Covid Tests both ways) I plan to do a shopping trip.

The Premier Cafe latte has the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee.

Doing well! I’m down 30 since the surgery. Total of 61lbs since I began this journey (2/21). I move on to soft foods next week. I have had a few incidents (vomit) mainly bc I tried to rush eating solids.

The premade ones do contain caffeine, but not the unmixed powder.

Does the gas pain feel like heartburn to anyone? I’m having a hard time describing what I’m feeling because I never really had heartburn prior. But it’s like a discomfort that runs up the center of my chest for a few seconds then dissipates. Sometimes it feels like a bubble stuck and I want to burp but cant. It’ll happen when I’m drinking or sometimes when I lay down. I’m really hoping I’m not developing heartburn already.

I am trying to find responses to your question. Did this resolve? How is your heartburn like feeling now? My daughter had the sleeve 4 days ago and has what she thinks is heartburn even though she has never had it before.

To JDLane and Sheslittle, not sure how I missed it but, YES, straight from surgery I thought, oh no, I have THE worst heartburn ever. And even said to my husband that I worried I was gonna regret the surgery if this is what I would be left with. I even complained to the nurse and asked for something for it. She however gave me something for gas. Didn't seem to work. BUT, I did noticed that, once I got up and moving around, that feeling went away. I was so glad to find that it was NOT heartburn and just a side affect of the gas. It should go away soon, I would think. Mine was gone by the next day or maybe even late the day of surgery.

Give it a couple weeks @sheslittletex I know had all kinds of weird things going on that I couldn’t quite describe. I think it went back to being gas pain from the surgery or just general gas bubbles (Gas-X helped) I also had what I think were hunger pains. It’s all fine now.

My surgeon puts patients on a PPI for two months.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
