Looking for recommendations to attempt to prevent as much facial wrinkling as possible. I have been overweight my whole life and honestly had enough cheeks to prevent wrinkles from showing. As I lose weight I notice that my skin is dry, pores are large and wrinkles are developing. I have also noted viewing success stories pictures that they appear older after losing weight, no offense to anyone. It is a small prices to pay for being healthier but just wondering what has helped or worked for others. Thanks!

I'm afraid nothing will spare you from 100% of the skin drooping, but *my* mantra for taking care of your skin (obese, formerly obese, or never-obese) is moisturize, drink lots of Water, and wear sunscreen.

Good Luck!

I noticed it too. It is happening to me as we speak. People always used to tell me how young I looked, even though I was overweight. Now, with the weight loss I have noticed how I do not get the same compliments. I am only 6 months out. I look like I have aged about 10 years.

Do they look older or just look their age? You may look drawn, tired & maybe older as you’re losing weight but I found when I got into maintenance, was eating a little more & eating some good carbs, I didn’t look as ‘hang dog’. I’m often told I look years younger than I am & I certainly look younger than my girlfriends (but that could be just good genes.)

I can see the real shape of my face now. I have cheekbones & a jaw line. My eyes even look bigger cause I don’t have heavy fatty droopy eyelids anymore. Sure that one marionette line on the right side of my face is more noticeable but I’d rather be thin with a deep line than obese with a blobby face without definition. But that’s me. We all have things that bother us about ourselves. I still think I have fat thighs which is crazy.

Moisturise (hyaluronic & retinol ones are good), regularly exfoliate gently, avoid the sun or slather on the sunscreen, add some collagen & silica to your diet. I did some radio frequency but that only gives short term results.

I think I do look older but I after 6 months and reaching my current weight my neck area below my chin was super saggy like a turkey waddle saggy! 18 months later and it has improved dramatically. It just took time for the skin there to bounce back. It is still not perfect but you wouldn't notice it unless I pointed it out now.

I’m down about 120 lbs and I’ve not noticed any wrinkles appearing. I use a ton of moisturizer and daily Vitamin c/tret. I used to have forehead wrinkles years ago even at my heaviest, but that’s why I see a nice lady every 4 months for 15 units of dysport 😉

I am down 50 pounds, 40 in 2 1/2 months. The problems are in my upper cheeks near my eyes and lower jaw and neck. Even my family says I look bad. I wear a CPAP which straps go across my upoer cheeks; there are horizontal indentions there. Should I do facial exercises, add hyalauronic acids & change the CPAP. This is scary!

You may need to be fitted for a new CPAP mask as your face will be smaller & a different shape. In time as you lose more, you may not even need to use a CPAP machine - wouldn’t that be wonderful!

Congrats on your weight loss.

in principle, the main points have already been described to you. so maybe I'll repeat myself a little.
also faced such a situation, now I study all sorts of "hot" creams for wrapping. write that they increase blood circulation in the dermis, which in turn triggers the processes of renewal and saturation of the upper layers of the skin with oxygen. I think to try one of these creams for my belly and thighs.
I don’t know for the face ... everyone talks about the need for cоllagen and retinоl, that they are excellent helpers in the fight against wrinkles, and they also talk about necessarily sunscreen (which I successfully forget😓), so I don’t use retinol creams or serums yet because i read tha it's bad combination retinol+sun. But my must have is orаl cоllagen pіlls
I use an alginate mask all the time (I buy a large can at once on Amаzon and use it for 1-1.5 years, it is very profitable), it moisturizes the skin very well, I advise you reaed more about it futures and use it at least once a week

I've heard really great things about peptides (namely, The Ordinary's Buffet serum, which is shockingly affordable) for increasing collagen in the skin. the first thing I've noticed is the bags under my eyes and the same brand of caffeine gel fixed them right up. I can fool myself into think I'm well-rested!

Congrats on your weight loss journey and prioritizing your health! As your skin adjusts to the changes, it's common to experience dryness and changes in texture. Here are a few tips to help prevent facial wrinkling: First, stay hydrated to keep your skin moisturized from within. Secondly, incorporate a good skincare routine with hydrating products, like a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Also, consider using products containing Argireline, which can help temporarily smooth out wrinkles. Remember, everyone's skin is unique, so what works for others might not work for you.

I wear a cpap mask as well. I'm hoping that once I lose some more weight, I won't need it anymore.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
