Wednesday is my 1 month anniversary since I had my sleeve done. Altogether I have lost 34 lbs and since the morning of my surgery I have lost 22lbs. But I am am stuck at 277. Not gaining but not loosing either! Is it normal to hit a plateau this soon? What are some tricks to move past it?

You are doing great so far. Its not a plateau more likely a brief stall, and it won't likely be your last stall. It is very normal, there are no tricks other than keep sticking to your post op guidelines provided by your surgeon or dietician. Your weight loss will kick in again soon.

Oh my gosh I just got on here to post the exact same thing I am now 8 weeks out and have lost 22 pounds. But for the last 10 days I've been at 22 pounds. while my diet has not been absolutely perfect I'm averaging between 509 and 800 calories a day, how is it even physically possible that I am not losing weight my gosh if this is a plateau and I finally get over it I'm going to drop 10 pounds overnight hahaha.

I think you need to set yourself some realistic expectations, you've started off at a fairly low weight compared to many. You are doing great so far. Because of your lower start weight your weight losses are likely to be lower and slower than most from now on. Stalls are normal even with weight loss surgery.

almost all of us experience our first major stall within the first 4-6 weeks after surgery. We call it "the three week stall" because it's usually the third week, but not always. Mine was weeks 2 & 3 - it broke during week 4, and I dropped like 6-8 lbs within a couple of days

we get a question on this early stall at least a couple of times a week, and if you do a search on "three week stall" on this site, you will see over 17,000 posts on it (and no, I am NOT kidding). It happens to almost everyone. And just so you know, you'll experience occasional stalls throughout your journey - it's a normal part of weight loss. Just stick to your program and stay off the scale for a week or two if you need to, and know that it WILL break. They usually last anywhere from 1-3 weeks...

I just had my surgery on the 24 of the month. I am very sore but pain is getting better. I have already started walking my mile on treadmill at a slower rate than before. I am just having a hard time consuming all the liquid in time frame at this point. I get full way too fast, can’t get all the 2 oz of broth down. Other than that feeling good. Get ready to start next diet phase.

This was an issue for me -- im about 7 weeks out and stalled the first month. and it was mainly bc i wasnt hitting my Protein goal. i made sure i was hitting my protein and increased my exercise a bit. it started to come off again. be patient with yourself.

I hit my first stall at weeks 4-5 and it scared me, even knowing it waa called the three week stall mark. Bwginning of qeek five i woke up and had lost 2lbs..still going again:) we've gotta somehow expect this and not let it bother us but it's difficult when the scale is consistently dropping and then it just doesn't for a bit..stay positive!

After I had my surgery, my nurse told me the same thing. She said then it started falling off again for her. She told me she lost 50 lbs in 7 weeks. I went to my 2 week post-op check up and lost 29 lbs but I feel like I haven’t lost any this week.

50 lbs in seven weeks is A LOT!! I'd lost half that in seven weeks - and I started out at over 300 lbs!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
