Ok so my surgery is sched for Sept 4th, and I just found out No one is allowed to come with me because of the new covid-19 restrictions, that makes me kinda sad had anyone eles had surgery yet, and had to go in alone ?

I travelled for my surgery solo and was in hospital for two nights without any visitors, I was fine, in fact, I generally prefer to be alone when I am not feeling well or need to recover from things.

I had my bypass alone on 6/29. I was fine, my nurses took terrific care of me, and I could manage alone at home after I was discharged.

Congrats on getting your surgery date. You’ll be fine. My surgery was way before covid but I was alone most of the time. A friend dropped me off at the hospital & picked me up three days after surgery. I live alone & managed well at home. Have to admit I was pretty tired & didn’t really want visitors so my friends & family txt & phoned regularly to make sure I was ok.

I did make sure I had all my meds, shakes, Soups, broths, etc. I’d need before I went to hospital.

Good luck.

The hospital I'm going to be at allows 1 guest per room between noon and 8pm. But honestly with 3 kids at home I don't expect my wife to visit that much anyway. Her parents will help I'm sure, but lets be honest hospitals are boring lol.

My surgery is on the 26th. My hospital informed me that who ever comes with me will have to stay in the lobby during my surgery and only can visit me for a little bit while I'm at recovery. Its sad because when my husband had his done I was there for everything.

I’m scheduled for August 31st, also in Maryland, and it’s the same, no visitors allowed. To be honest I don’t mind, safety first. The hospital stay is so short, you’ll be headed back home before you know it.

There were no visitors allowed when I had my surgery, but I wouldn't have had any visitors anyway, so it didn't make a difference to me. You can always call or Facetime your family/friends from the hospital. Just bring something to do or read to pass the time while you sip fluids (which demands more of your time and attention than you would think) and you'll be back home with your family before you know it.

I slept pretty much the whole time. Don't think I ever even turned on the TV! May have played on my phone a few times, but mostly just slept!! Time went by very quickly!

my husband was there with me (5 years ago), but I slept most of the time, so it may not have mattered in the long run if he was there or not. Although it was nice of him to stay with me! (he even slept in the guest chair!)

sleeping in a hospital chair... that’s real love. They are the worst torture devices ever! I think they choose uncomfortable chairs on purpose so visitors will leave after a short visit.

I was soooooo sick for the first 18ish hours. I was really glad my husband didn't have to see me like that. There are pros to every bad situation. Lol.

My hospital allows 1 visitor between 12-6pm. My husband is going to be there with me but I probably won’t even get to see him after surgery because my surgery is late in the afternoon. I’m just glad I will only have to stay one night.

The whole time I was told I would have to be alone and then the day before my surgery, they told me I could have one person only come with me. By the time they told me it was too late to have anyone come with me and looking back I appreciated the alone time to reflect on my thoughts and say goodbye to my old life. The visiting hours were restricted as well but at least it was something. So who knows if things may change.

Yeah I am post surgery 3 days now and had to stay in the hospital for 1 day. Honestly it did suck to not have anyone that could visit me but I was so tired and sore after surgery that I needed a day to myself. I texted and facetime everybody I could.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
