I am not breastfeeding currently, but I did breastfeed 2 children before I had VSG.

I had pretty big boobs for my frame all my life. I popped out one kid, and I didn’t even breastfeed (I pumped for 4 weeks only). And it wreaked havoc on the state of my boobs. I had a breast reduction a year or so later, and they were good for a while (still big enough, but at least not droopy any more...i was wearing a 34C for a while after the reduction).

Then I gained alot of weight the the next 10+ years and got up to a 40DD/DDD.

Losing the weight deflated them, and re-droopified them. Not as droppy as after the kid, but enough to make me want the breast lift.

Age, number of times there was weight gain& loss, speed of weight gain/loss, genes, and overall amount of fat lost will determine the sagginess of your boobs in the end. While muscle training may increase the size of the pectoral mucsles behind your boobs and give your chest a bit of lift, no amount if exercise will fill the sacs of deflated boobs. That’s just science.

Depending on how much it bothers you, you can still easily look fabulous with a really good bra, no matter what the state you boobs are in.

Good Luck ! ❤️

Went from 44F to 34C-D on a 5’1” frame. I go back and forth on wanting a lift. Not interested in implants. They’ve always been droopy but now they’re empty-droopy 😅 We’ll see. Stomach is up first -then we’ll see how I feel after the healing from that.

I can't wait for my boob job!! I was a 34D until I was 30 or so, and then as I put on weight, had kids, etc, they became ginormous. I'm down to a 36DD so far, with 16lbs to go until goal. I would love to be a perky full C or small D.

Even without WLS, I would have wanted my boobs done. Pretty much everyone in my social circle has had a lift or BA by age 40, so I need to catch up! LOL!!

I've had three kids, breastfed them for a combined total of 7.5 years and have yoyo dieted my whole life. My breasts are the first place I gain and lose. Now I've lost 100 pounds with my gastric sleeve. My breasts are basically just skin and nipples at this point. I'm going to ask for a referral to a plastic surgeon at my 12 month post op appointment, when I've been stable at my goal for at least 4 months. I really just want a lift, and have since my first pregnancy saw me go up 5 cup sizes in the space of weeks. There was no coming back from that for my poor boobs.

I'm curious to see what plastic surgery can do for me, whether a lift will be enough or they will suggest implants.

I really hate how they look and feel now, more so than any other part of my post wls body. Even my elephant butt lol.

Is it because your breast are droopy?

As I wrote earlier in this thread:

I lost nearly all the volume in my breasts. They were flat and deflated, but not necessarily droopy. I chose to get implants, and I'm very very pleased with them 😍

I think it depends on where you lose the weight from, how big you were before and how low of a BMI you get to. I wore a 40DD at 195lbs. The bra got lose but I didn't need to get new bras until I hit 150lbs then I was a 36D at aroudn a BMI of 26. The last 20 lbs. I dropped more all over including my chest. I can wear a padded 34D but should probably be in a 34C. Now that my belly, legs etc are smaller I look fine wearing a bra or swimsuit with some padding and lift. Naked it's not terrible but I am hoping that if I do gain the bounce back 5-15lbs. it will go to my boobs. That may be wishful thinking.

I was 63 years old when I had surgery and lost 100 pounds in 6 months. I went from a 42 DD to a 34A. Basically "rocks in socks." Pretty ugly, but only without clothes! During the past year, however, my fat seems to have redistributed a bit. My weight is the same, but I seem to be a bit more filled out. I will never have breast surgery, as a well fitting bra works just fine, and I am not out looking for a relationship. Being older, I think, adds a different perspective. I am so happy with who I am and my brand new body that can do all the things I've not been able to do for decades. Being morbidly obese was a lot more funny looking than my new wrinkles and sags, so I'll take skinny and saggy anytime!

Was watching Skin Decision on Netflix yesterday & the surgeon did Lipo on her patient & used the fat to fill the upper emptiness in her breasts. I thought oh maybe that’s what I should have done but then realised I don’t really have much fat left anywhere for them to harvest. Not a problem I ever imagined having. 🤣

Make sure you wear supportive bras as you lose weight. It’ll be an expense, but keep sizing down as necessary. I’m a stay-at-home mom and cheap so I didn’t do this. I kept wearing bras that were way too big around the house. This may have contributed to the sagging I have going on now. I’m interested in at least a lift at some point, maybe implants too.

I've literally worn a bra (usually a soft, comfy sports bra) 24-7 unless I'm in the shower since my surgery, and I feel like it has helped quite a bit...I started doing it because one of my incisions after the surgery was right under my right breast and it was uncomfortable but I'm 15 mos out and still only go "all natural" if I'm in the bath or shower. My bra size has gone from a 42DD to a 32D so I havent had a lot of actual loss but they're "deflated" looking. If I suddenly came into a lot of money I might want to get a breast lift but it's low on my list of priorities (now...skin removal and a neck lift...those are a priority).

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
