Help finding clothes before surgery

Recommended Posts

Hello to the ladies. My question is to you. I have outgrown my pants during the quarantine and I need to find petite pants in a lightweight fabric online. I’m having such trouble locating anything good in the only stores open right now near me. I’m at least a 3 x and very wide in my hips. Can anyone make some suggestions so I have something to wear other than my pajamas for the summer? I would be very thankful for any advice or links to online stores. Thank you.

when I was SMO, I used to buy leggings - and capris - from online plus-size retailers like Woman Within and Roaman's (sp?). Not high-quality, but not expensive - and they held up for me pretty well. They're stretchy so they'd last me through several pounds. I've given away all that were over a 2x because they'd fall off me now, but I still have some of my 2x's that I wear for yoga or to just lounge around the house in (I normally wear a size 12 pant, so 2x's are way too big for me and I'd never wear them except for things like yoga and lounging around, but for those things, they still work and they're great!)

Don't shop at Roaman's. You are petite and there pants and shirts run long.

didn't know that, but then I'm not short, so it wouldn't have applied to me!

I'm also short and fat. Recently, I've been buying all my pants at Old Navy. They actually have a wide variety of fits and fabrics, and I never have trouble finding P's there.

I just found out today that I will probably be scheduled for surgery in July so I dont want to put too much money out for clothes. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

i ended up using justmysize.com. I’m all set!

Wrap dresses and wrap skirts are your friends!

(As are belts, lol).

Though, if you want to save some $$, maybe don't buy too many clothes during weight loss phase. At first I was all, yay, I can buy some smaller clothes! Then it became apparent that I would drop a size every 3-4 weeks and I couldn't wear my just purchased clothing. So that was a bummer.

I have not worn a dress in 29 years. I can't even imagine it at this point. Where do you suggest buying a wrap dress? I've never worn one.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
