Need some advice

Recommended Posts

Hi my name is Jennifer i am new here. I had my gastric sleeve surgery done on September 11th of 2018. Well since this stay in home thing, i have gained some weight and i am not liking it one bit. And my husband is home all the time now since his disability got approved, and i dont like doing things in front of people no matter who they are including my mom, i am weird i know. But my question is how can i lose weight, should i do high Protein Drinks for a week and nothing else or should i do the post op steps all over again?

I agree with the above posters. I'd just start really monitoring what you're eating. Start logging your food again if you're not already doing that, and try to figure out how many calories a day you're averaging, and then cut back from there. Gradually. As in cut out 100 calories a day for awhile. After a couple weeks, if nothing's happening, then cut by another 100. Rinse and repeat.

also, go back to what you were doing the first year, once you were a few months out - as in Protein first, then veggies - and then, if you still have room, maybe a small serving of fruit or whole-grain carbs.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
