To be honest, since psychologists have to be in college/grad school for like 12 years I always shocked here when people act like they are being ripped off when they pay much. I don’t mean you acted like that at all, but others on these boards have. I don’t know if some don’t have a concept of the education required or the usual costs, but $200 is so low it makes me wonder what they did, you know? I mean attorney’s charge 250/hr and up, physicians too, psycholgists go to school longer than either of those on average. So 1 hour interview and then the time to review and pay for the test stuff and then write up a 2-4 page report would reasonably be at least $500.

But so glad you got done with everything!!!

Paid out of pocket for everything. Psych evaluation was $199. No longer obese, no longer pre-diabetic, and my Vitamin D is back in the normal range. Next month will be 2 years since surgery. I work in an alternative school that serves K-12. I will try not to get the virus, but the odds are not looking good for when school starts if I still have a job (won’t know for sure until July). The good news is that because of WLS I have a lesser chance of it being a death sentence.

I work for Communities In Schools (non-profit), a portion of our salaries are paid for by the Texas Education Agency and our director has already been notified that they can expect budget cuts. Either way, I will be in a school, because before all this started I applied to grad school and got accepted. I can’t back out now, because my adult kids bought my books for Mother’s Day. So, maybe I can get a grocery store job, or live off student loans and unemployment. I am almost 50 and have never drawn unemployment before.

That was a long ramble to say, I am glad I paid for the surgery. It was a hard recovery for me, but it is worth it because I got my health back on track.

I paid for my nutrition and dietitian classes will have been approved to receive the services in January however they have remained close even up until this day they're still close and that was the last thing I needed to do in my surgery tomorrow to get surgery so I asked if I could be redirected I was told no they only use this hospital to do it well the road research digging and found the dietitian nutritionist at a different hospital and she was willing to work with meShe quoted me $600 if I wanted the package completely done or 100 for one session since I had to do six months I gave the whole six months upfront and asked her to backdate all six months because I had already lost time from January to June.I went to the insurance I was approved the very next day best 600 spent for me a piece of mine and I went from having a surgery date of November to June best decision my sleeve is getting done on June 23

Only pay $600 for the nutrition dietician I have got them lapbznd before and had it removed a year ago so I was already familiar with it however my insurance only wanted me to go to this one hospital they wouldn't redirect me they wouldn't let me go anywhere else but only just one hospital well I called a different hospital and the nutritionist was willing to see me for $100 a session so I went on ahead and I gave her 600 and made her back date the sessions they submitted it to the approval samse day. i figured i want this done over... i know $600 is alot but covid still has this hospital on lockdown only covid patients and i had been waiting since january... so if i wanted insurance to cover 6 months had to wait.. lmao found one who was will to so whatever as long an you paid.. best $ 600 surgery 06/23

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
