Do you know how many calories you're saving by eating healthier? I don't know how much you moved around before lockdown but it sounds like you're not in a deficit at the moment.

About 300 less per day between a healthier breakfast and dinner options. Thats under 1lb/week though. Activity is the same (lol at lockdown comment). According to most calculators I need 2500 to maintain this weight.

@BayouGirlMrsS I don’t like avocados but I use avocado oil. eggs, oatmeal, cottage cheese, cream of wheat...all on my 🤮 list... I have texture issues.... 😔

completely understandable... we all have our likes and dislikes..... what about grits? You may have to stick with smoothies.... Try the yogurt i suggested.... i hate all the others. This is the only one i like. What did you eat for Breakfast before SX??

oatmeal was my go to Breakfast before I could tolerate eggs. Always found the oatmeal was very easy on my stomach

@BayouGirlMrsS I like grits but not when they are really runny. I tried them during my soft food phase and they didn’t sit well with me, probably because I made them too thick, so I haven’t had them since but I may try again soon.

Before surgery I would eat an English muffin and sausage for breakfast, or vanilla yogurt and blueberries, or 2 of those halos and bacon. If I had a heavy breakfast it would be on the weekends.

That’s another thing I struggle with is eating at my appointed times. I start working and the next thing you know so much time has passed. Someone suggested I set alerts through my Amazon echo so I may try that.

Is it plain eggs like fried, poached, boiled or scrambled you can’t tolerate? I don’t like runny eggs but happily eat scrambled eggs & omelettes. Could you tolerate an omelet with lots of fillings - cheese, mushrooms, spinach, etc. or with a sauce like chilli to change the texture & flavour?

What about mushrooms, a corned beef or vegetable hash, left over meat & vege fritters or fish cakes? (An air fryer will make them crispy without frying them in oil.)

I make tuna/salmon frittata muffins with veges which would work well for breakfast. Five eggs but makes 8-12 half cup muffins. Freezes well too.

I tend to eat plain oatmeal or scrambled eggs for breakfast every day. I enjoy not having to think about what I’m going to eat.

@Arabesque I don’t like eggs at all. Only if they are used in a recipe as a binder and I can’t taste or see them like in a burger. 😫😫😫. I could try a vegetable hash or fish cakes and I do have an air fryer. Thanks for the tips! 😊

did you get to ask your dr. why you can't eat those? It seems to me that all you use to eat, you should be able to eat. Except for the muffin. I would watch the halos, some times the skin is hard to digest... this is why i get them from the can or cup (no skin). Yogurt is good.... I don't really watch my carbs/sugar in the am and i will burn them off during the day.... this is why i have no worries about eating this yogurt.... I just can't stand the aftertaste in my mouth with the fat free or low fat ones....

@BayouGirlMrsS on the paper I have it says that they have a high fat content, that’s the reason why. I managed to get a Protein Shake down yesterday so that was
breakfast. They were making me nauseous after surgery. I’ve been eating the Dannon Light and Fit yogurt but I’ll have to try the one you mentioned.

This is just my opinion.... the little amount of Bacon/sausage you will be able to eat, won't make that much of a difference. Yes it's high in fat, but you are only eating maybe one-piece... I would eat the meat before i would eat the potatoes..... lots of dr. put there WLS pt on a high fat, low carb diet... Kinda like Keto.

I don't, i stick mostly to portion size. I stick to 1/8 cup of Protein, 1/8 cup veggie 1/8 cup of "other".

Breakfast is coffee and normally a breakfast bar. I like the Special K Pastry Crisps during the weekdays. On Sat/Sun my husband is normally home and i cook. Me: coffee and a 1/4 piece of Daves Good seed bread toasted well. Or one egg (fried), 1/4 piece of bacon and 1/4 piece of toast...(i never finish this).

lunch is tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad, left overs from the night before... if not to dry. Chili, baked sweet potato...

dinner is fish, steak, chicken.... with a veggie... Green Beans, baby peas, baked S/potato,

@BayouGirlMrsS this sounds like a well balanced plan! Thanks for sharing. I have an appointment with my nutritionist in May and I am going to discuss coming up with a plan that works for ME!

Researching online, it seems like a lot of people implement their own plans because I see a variety of Keto, IF, counting macros.

I haven’t tried the yogurt you mentioned but I will. I either buy Dannon Light and Fit or Chobani.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
