This whole bony butt thing

Question to all the vets out here, because we need to talk about this whole bony butt thing. Or bone maybe is not the right word - maybe it is muscle along with bone on a surface with little fat?🤷‍♂️

Does it ever get better? Because I can't sit on hard surfaces😂 I was on the floor doing some yoga and tried to turn around, and it was utter pain to move over on the butt. I almost gave up, screamed through it and scared my dogs shitless because of the moaning, cursing and screaming. Sometimes it is like sitting on a spiked foam roller. I want to move all fat on the frontside to the trunk!

Your sitting bones are made to sit on. They should adapt. But maybe I'm just used to the pressure on them because of biking on hard saddles.

I bike to. I has gotten gradually more hard to sit. But on a bike seat a lot of the pressure is not directly on the glutes, but a little further in between your legs,

The pressure should be on your sitting bones when biking. Did you ever have the distance between your sitting bones measured?

mine still does sometimes - and I have one of those coccyx pillows in my car for long trips (I had one on my office chair, too, before I retired). I don't notice it as much anymore, though. Not sure if it's gotten better or if I've just figured out how to sit to minimize it (??).

Forgive my irrational exuberance....I’m sure the pain is real.😞 I just wish mine wasn’t “quite” so padded and accomodating.😰

The struggle is real - I also have a damaged coccyx thanks to my second daughter coming out extremely fast when she was born, so I have a painfully bony bum plus a coccyx that moves and grates. Sitting cross legged on the floor is all in the past for me.

Oh I so hope it improves because it’s horrendous. Please, please, please. I sometimes feel like screaming too as I get up all bent over & holding my lower back. Then there’s the bony elbows, spine, knees, ankles. My sister in law also suggested one of those donut cushions. Might be my next purchase.

You are not sitting directly on your glutes while biking. I don't know about your anatomy, but my bike seat is more "between" the ass and a little more to the front, so when I bike, it is not the same thing as putting the ass on a wooden chair🤣

I ordered a padded tights to see if it helps. I think the donuts and such are even harder to sit on, and feels weird.

Hmmmmmmm, most of the pressure is on the sitting bones which feel like two knobs when you sit on them. I can't stand pressure on the "female parts". It just hurts!!

Just sat crosslegged on the hard floor in front of my balcony door in the warm sunspot and could feel the two knobs that are the sitting bones. This isn't supposed to hurt though.

Since we’re discussing bones- never had or could feel hammer toes but now toes & feet so bony! I have to wear toe coverings on couple of toes cause bones now protrude so much. My feet/toes/ankles always were so swollen. Can’t believe I actually have thin feet now!!

I had “sore butt syndrome” as the weight came off as well. And my knees would hurt rubbing against each other when i slept on my side. In the very very beginning, my lower back and hips would ache.

The back and hips resolved itself around month 4-5, i think because my body got used to my new weight distribution.

The butt pain went away around month 7-8 (i have no idea why...especially since i weigh less now at 1.5 years than i did at month 7....?)

...the knee knocking at night, however, is still an issue...but nothing a pillow in between them doesn’t fix.
