3rd Revision- RNY,band over bypass, D—Switch

So I’m about 3 months post op from my last surgery- D-Switch and have only lost 20lbs and even that was lost during pre-op diet. The STRUGGLE is real. Anyone else?

Because 10 years after RNY I began regaining weight and with the band I wanted a more permanent option and remove the hardware.

Very interesting. I think you are the first person I've read who had a RNY to Lap-Band revision. All the ones I've read was the other way around. Also, I didn't know that they were still performing Lap-Band procedures.

I am pretty sure the band was first, then the hardware was removed and a bypass was performed,

No, you can have a Fobi-pouch. It's a ring that sits at the bottom of the new pouch and it's supposed to prevent it from stretching out and further limits food quantity.

There actually is a procedure called banded-bypass but I don't know how effective it is or if it is even done today. IIRC it is (or at least was) sometimes also done because of severe dumping before the overstitch came around.

No. I had the bypass first. Then the band over the bypass(pouch)

My understanding is the DS is a very high risk SX. And if this doesn't work you have no other options.

With the band you can pretty much do any of the other WLS

Sleeve you can go to MGB, RNY, DS, SIPS

RNY you could do the band over BP or you can even to a revision to the MGB, DS or SIPS...

But i'm not 100%

I had the RNY in 2005. And as expected the pouch does tend to stretch over time. At the time in 2013 I chose to do band over bypass because I had loss some restriction. The D-Switch was not being done then and was the band only revision option in my area. It wasn't until last year that I was made aware the D-switch could be done. So I decided to have the band removed and do the d-switch with the intention of not continuing to gain more weight. Since the D-Switch I’ve been pretty stable but I was hoping to see more of a progression. The reason I made the post was in hopes to find someone in a similar situation. I am re-learning my body again. I’m not looking to do another surgery

Ok... I think i understand... You had the RNY and then had the band over BP... Now you're looking into having the band removed and doing the DS.

From what i hear and saw on Dr. V's vid's, the DS is the mack daddy of WLS. But it's also the end of the line. I'm going to find DR. V vid and post it here for you to watch.
