fluids go in one end of your stomach and out the other, so you should be fine. If it hurts, slow down of course, but otherwise, you're fine.

Sounds like you're doing fine. I didnt have any issues with drinking either after surgery. The more you drink the better!

Also, dont be sorry about being a newbie. That's what we're all here for. Im sure you will "pay it back" when you get to be the veteran as well. We are never truly knowledgable and are constantly learning how to deal with all of this. So, keep asking away!

It's okay to drink a lot of Water. Your body needs it. You need to stay hydrated. Just sip, sip, sip all day long.

Sounds like you are finding your limits. Just keep sip, sip, sippin' with what works for you as long as you are getting your Water in daily.

Drink as much as you can comfortably handle. Water is good for us!

I think that’s great, I think some of us have more swelling and inflammation initially which makes it harder. Just listen to your body and don’t try to push beyond your limits or you’ll be in pain. I’ve over indulged a few times and spent an hour paving the house nauseated and sweating and in tremendous pain. Now at almost 3 years I can chug a half a water bottle on an empty stomach, I still don’t drink for at least a half hour after eating and would never chug Water until several hours after eating. You just have to get to know your body again.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
