So, December 18 is the big day, however, I’m beginning to get super nervous. So afraid of the unknown. What if something goes wrong? What if I don’t lose any weight and have to continue my bp meds? So glad I only have to do the liquid diet for one week. Even that has me nervous for fear of failure! I’m hoping this sleeve will help to change my life. We shall see! 🤞🏽

complications are pretty rare - I'm sure you'll sail through just fine! Also, if you follow your surgeon's plan, you WILL lose weight!

I'm sure you'll do great. Finding this forum really will prepare you for what to expect and how to cope with it. There are some negative peeps here, and I don't think the downers are inherently mean, they are going through a rough patch, but mostly a bunch of folks that DO care how it goes for you, and after you are "on the other side" with us you'll help the next batch of WLS newbies, Glad you joined us!

I was nervous too, but every time I started to feel nervous I told myself I was ready to move forward and leave my old ways behind. And the biggest help was that I gave the worry to God! Remember, the entire procedure, from admitting to actual surgery, is a few hours out of your life... compared to a lifetime of a new you!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
