Just wondering why you are starting the liquid diet if you don't have a surgery date yet. Until you get a date, you can still prepare by eliminating foods you cannot/should not have after surgery, such as sugar, refined carbs, soda, caffeine, and alcohol. Cleaning up the general diet even before the official pre-op diet is very helpful so you don't go through withdrawal while dealing with the hard parts of liquid diet and recovery.

I’m on day 6 of my preop liquid diet. Things I have learned.

Liquid in means liquid out. Be aware.
chicken broth makes this even worse!
Don’t trust farts
You’ll be tempted to cheat. Don’t do it. Find something else to distract you.
Plan on hiding from people. It’s too hard to be around food.
Stock up before your diet starts. It’s too are to be in the grocery store.
Good luck!!!! You can do this!

Azhiker reason being is that my doc wants 4 weeks on the pre op diet and as I stated I’m just easing into it. I’m just waiting til my appointment on the tenth to set a date...I’ve already cut out the other foods, soda, alcohol and caffeine and just want to be successful. Thank you.☺️

Are you expecting a surgery date soon? My preop diet was only 10 days and I definitely wasn't starting any earlier lol but that's just me. I get it though, it could be good to get a jump start so that if you "cheat" now it won't effect the actual preop time.

Stock up on as much as you can now. Nothing worse than running out of the few things that you can have lol

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
