Food and quantity

I'm 4.5 weeks post op rny. I can eat chili and Soup etc like it's nothing. 6 to 8 oz. I'm still on soft food for another week. Do you think I'll feel more restriction on regular foods? I don't want to screw this up.

6-8 oz of chili at 4.5 weeks out sounds like a lot to me, but if your medical team is OK with it, then ....there you go. And yes - you should start feeling restriction once you start eating solid food.

Agree this sounds like a lot. You need to limit your portions to the appropriate volume prescription from your doc and RD. I think about that time I had a 1/2 cup max limit per meal for volume. Even softs and soups/chili.

Your restriction should improve with more solid food. But the reality is we must retrain our brain to be "ok" with less. With smaller portions. Now is the time to really do that.

So just because you can, does not mean it's advisable.

I can eat more soft liquid food then hard food, I doubt you will be able to eat a 8oz steak

I agree with fluffy - We all can eat the decision is yours as to what and how much

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
