Last weigh in a few weeks ago was 281. This seems to be a gravitation issue rather like the hold Saturn has on the tiny satellites about the ring formation.

I've had a 'keep the Band/rip it out' debate for the last few years.

Still down from my highest weight by 90 #; not enough as my 'size 42 pants' didn't quite happen. Size 44 lasted for years, as did size 46. Now 48 seems a little more snug. Yet I managed a 1.5 mile walk last week, & continue remarkable daily activities. I spent several years as virtual house bound as other skeletal issues must be accommodated.

Daily focus on Health helps.

What is your diet like? Do you plan, track, weigh, measure, or anything like that? Just curious. We don't see many people from 2004 procedures here.

I didn't realize you could have a lap band for that long. I thought they were short-term. To be honest, I don't know that much about lap bands.

I tracked everything I ate for 3 years running & didn't lose an oz. Tight control of 1800-2000 calories. Various issues such as Barrett's esophagitis came & went....mostly.

At 70 ++ I'm mostly convinced the Band not only saved my life but continues to help despite moments pondering whether further surgery has likely benefit.

Haven't followed much here lately.

I also believe that the band has saved my life. No doubt I would be over 400 lbs by now.

My quality of life has greatly improved these last 12 years.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
