My surgeons office sells Health Wise brands of soup/broth that have 15g Protein per packet. I’ve enjoyed both the creamy Tomato and beef broth. Not sure if it can be ordered online or found in local stores. It’s a nice change up from the protein shakes!

Purée your favorite Soup and sip slowly. Not to spicy tho. Maybe blend fruit and take a few bites. Ptotein Water will help. Just sip every 5 minutes

I am 10 days post op, once I went to stage 2 I incorporated Oikos triple zero yogurt and farina, loving both. The shakes I use are premier and I am really happy with them as well. Good luck and keep trying out your options

I stuck with sugar free popsicles, sugar free pudding, chicken noodle Soup without the noodles, and Protein Shakes for a long time.

some people become lactose intolerant after surgery - some temporarily, others permanently. It's possible that's what's going on with the dairy products.

I think this is whats happening to me honestly. I try the Protein Shakes in many flavors and I become incredibly gassy my back is killing me today I am straight up miserable! Idk I am desperate to eat something that doesnt taste like a cow smells. I never used to have this problem I looooove cottage cheese and yogurt but now it kills me. And because I ate so much broth before rhe surgery I am literally over it now. Not a great start but I am happy I did this and I know it will all pay off I just need to be able to get my protwin some other way.

Protein flavored water. I think I bought it at Walmart. It kind of has a dry after taste. It tasted better ice cold (to me at least).

@Kimishep06 if you buy chicken broth and romen noodles and mix a little of the seasoning packet from the romen Soup into the chicken broth it helps A LOT.

Isopure has a Protein infusion in different fruit flavors. You add it to your Water and then shake it. It is cloudy while you are shaking it but once it clears, it tastes pretty close to Crystal Light. I am drinking the Mixed berry flavor. I bought some popsicle molds and filled them with the Isopure infusions.

Fairlife has Protein Shakes that are 14 ounces that have been a godsend. When I got a hunger pain, I would drink half a bottle and that seemed to help quite a bit.

There is a product, Sans Sucre Mousse mixes. I make it with skim milk. The mix provides 3 gm of protein and the skim milk adds 9 grams.

For my broths, I bought chicken, beef and turkey broth bases. I added whole carrots and celery stalks cut in half and a whole chicken. After it was done, I pulled out the chicken and the vegetables and froze them, leaving me with a very savory broth.

Needless to say, sugar free pudding and Jello have helped a lot. My doctor allowed only one pudding per day but that was really all I needed.

Surprisingly, my hubby eating in front of me hasn't bothered me nearly as much as I thought it would. The only truly rough time was when he cooked bacon for BLTs for our daughter who was visiting and himself. But as Gloria Gaynor sang, "I Will Survive".

Try non dairy Protein Shakes. My dietician gave me options for dairy and non dairy. Also I feel you with the broths! I am 6days post op and I have bought all organic soups: butternut squash creamy Soup, potato leek creamy Soup, non organic: cream of mushroom and cream of chicken and Tomato Soup.

Im not getting in my full Protein requirement but my main focus is staying hydrated.

I even am aloud SF pudding and Jello, smooth yogurt (I bought drinkables) and Gatorade zero and of course my Protein shakes.

Hang in there!! I know it’s difficult Im as well on stage 2 of semiliquid/liquid stage

My stats:
HW recorded: 270
Surgery 8/19/19  weight: 266.8
Today’s weight 8/25/19 256.6

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
