Clothing Rollercoaster

When did you start buying new clothing? I’m finding that since I keep losing weight what I buy today may be too big next month. This has already happened to me, I bought a suit just a couple of weeks ago and now it’s too big. I’m not complaining but just wondering how everyone else handles their size changes in regards to clothing?

I would buy a few nice pairs of dress pants, but everything else came from goodwill. Skirts are easy to wear even if they are a little big, leggings are great too

I still haven't except for some small inexpensive stuff, I'm waiting til I get closer to my goal weight to buy anything that cost alittle more like pants, shorts, shirts and stuff like that... Hope this helps....

I had a total wardrobe overhaul around 4 months post op (went on vacation/change of seasons) altering/tailoring things along the way until I could not anymore. Then purchased a piece at a time (minimalist/capsule wardrobe)

I bought everything (except underwear and swimsuits) from Goodwill and other thrift stores until I hit maintenance. I was blowing through sizes so fast that it just wasn't worth buying new things.

I buy $2.00 pieces at the local Thrift store as transition pieces. I'm not spending good money on store-bought clothes until I'm done losing and have reached my permanent size.

I cleaned out some old clothes a month ago. I kept a few things back that I USED to not be able to wear due to the fact that I had gained so much weight. I hung them up in the back of the closet to be able to " back into them"

I have bought things from the thrift store. now that i have lost more weight i'm thinking of getting out the sewing machine to at least tighten the pants legs. i could get expensive; new sizes every month or two.

I am currently a year out 110 pounds down and really thought I was done losing. So disappointed because all my clothes are hanging off again. Currently 172 pounds. I really don’t want to buy clothes again. Really didn’t want to keep losing either but I guess it’s what I signed up for. My goal weight has changed multiple times. Sounds like I’m complaining, and I guess I am a little. Didn’t expect to be skinny. Just a healthy weight for me.

I haven't done a full overhaul of my closet yet but I've gotten things here or there but I'm at that point that the shorts I'm wearing now (that I just got a month ago) are so big that if I put my phone and wallet in the pocket it weighs them down and they start to slide down but I'm also at a point where It's like why am I going to buy more fall is almost here and then I'm gonna have to buy all new fall clothing. I think I will overhaul soon though as my weight loss has definitely slowed down and I'm creepy close to my goal weight.

Just went through mine again, weeded out torn, stained and all items 3-5X. as well as 4X mens sweats, lived in those when I couldn't find anything else warm enough for Midwestern Winters. And pretty soon all the 20 tops are going , keep sliding off one shoulder or another. Have ran more elastic through the 2X(20-22) waistbands to try for a little more wear but when they start drooping , look like a toddler's full diaper or the legs look floppy , bye bye they will go. My Mama, may she rest in peace, loved putting me in A-line🎽 skirts and bell- bottom 👖pants, probably why I still LOATHE floppy sloppy clothes!

I smashed saver so I have clothes size 12 through size 16w packed away. I'm 10 day out so still wearing my 2x and 18w hoping when they get to big I'll donate and take them to Goodwill. Not sure if I will ever get back in a 12 so when I hit goal they may have to go too but I'll wait and see once I'm in a 14. I plan on purging each size as I go. And will check the thrift store for any fill in the blanks I need

Hi! I have been buying clearance items at Old Navy as I go down in sizes to avoid spending too much on clothes until I reach my goal. For work type clothes, I also check clearance at other store, like Marshals and TJ Maxx.

I have already bought some fall stuff that I am using as an incentive. I also have a box of stuff that I "grew out of" I don't work so I don't need much. I'm just waiting to get rid of the stuff I have now. Unfortunately, I bought baggy stuff that still fits.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
