The hospital said it was a first for them ! To be fair,it was really extreme heat , hottest day in History in the U.K I was told . My son said it was hotter than when he was in Australia! I think they were afraid of the surgeons passing out ! Hope your blood work and ekg went ok 🙂

I live in Southern Arizona... 110-122 Fahrenheit are common to where we live. Well, the hottest it gets at my house is 115, but I drive through places that get to 122 easily in summer. I guess that would be 43-50 degrees Celsius?

I live in NYC and this summer was terrible. Even though my temperatures were only at worst 100 degrees farenheit the humidity is what killed us. Everyday they would say it felt like we were up 20 degrees or saw because of it. I know my electric bill felt it. As I type this it's a beautiful day at a wonderful 62 degrees farenheit. I think the summer heatwave has passed in New York City....🙏🏻

Oh, I will take AZ dry heat anyday to the rest of the country where it can be 84+ but humid! I went to Europe this summer and it was in the 80s every day (before their heat wave) but I was MISERABLE temperature wise!

Excited, anxious, and nervous... I think that sums up what most of us are feeling!

Yeah that's what everyone out west always says. Lol. I have a cousin who moved to Las Vegas who always refers to "dry heat" but when I went to visit it was hot as hell out there too. She arrives in NYC this Thursday for her brothers wedding and calls me constantly for weather updates. Lol. She hates the humidity and says she cant take it anymore. Lol

I am from the Chicago area and spent 10 years in SW Florida.... the heat in the desert areas is definitely different. We are definitely "hotter than hell" lol, but we aren't "hot and sticky". We can sit in the shade and feel just a little cooler (can't do that in the midwest). We can jump in a pool and while drying we feel cooler (just feel sticky in the midwest). Also... if you compare the same temperature days... our 80 feels like 80, whereas the humidity makes 80 feel a lot hotter (heat index).

Oh well, off topic now!

Every insurance company is different. I had several things to do during the 6 month period before everything could be submitted to the insurance company. My journey began back in January with my first appointment with my surgeon. I then had to see a dietitian for 6 months in a row and could not miss an appointment or I would have to start all over again. I had to see a psychiatrist, get an endoscopy, see a vascular surgeon, chest xray and attend seminar in the hospital. My paperwork was submitted and approved within 2 weeks. The only things I have left to do are another appointment with surgeon and appointment with my internist to have ekgs and bloodwork 2 weeks before surgery. My surgery is on September 23 😁 What does your health insurance require?

Whoa! This sounds exactly like what I’m about to have to do for my insurance. I have been “approved” by my insurance, but I still have to jump through basically all of those same hoops you did before I finalize the surgery date. Congrats on getting to this point, that’s so exciting to be almost to your surgery! I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery!

Thank you. Yeah it was kind of a long process but well worth it in the end. Surprising that your approval came first before the appointments. I think it's better that was so you already know you are approved. In my case I could have done six months of appointments and then gotten denied. Thank goodness that wasnt the case but i have heard from several people that NY is a difficult state when it comes to insurance. I know a lot of people that leave the state for surgery to avoid the wait and speed the process up. With that being said it will be over before you know it 😁

We do get mostly used to it... but we prefer to only go out early AM and late PM in the summer's, then when the rest of the northern hemisphere is too cold to go out, we love being out doors. Good luck to you too!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
