5.5 weeks post lapband to gastric bypass

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I had surgery on 7/16 and was fine up until week 3.5 to week 4. I wasn’t able to get my Water in or food down without throwing up. So I called my surgeons office and went it. Where my lapband was had become extremely tight and was not allowing anything to go through. So I was scheduled to go in the next morning which was last Thursday to have an EGD with a ballon stretch in the area where the issue was. I now can eat about 6oz of food before I feel satiety. I am worried it was over stretched. I am not losing any weight. I am very concerned I am eating to much. It is low fat and low carb meals and of course Protein first. I am still adhering to the no drinking with meals and waiting to eat 30 minutes after drinking and waiting to drink 30 minutes after eating. I am just looking for input and opinions on what I should do.

if you're following your plan, then it's just "the three week stall". The vast majority of us have our first stall within the first 4-6 weeks after surgery. It's so common we give it that name! (it usually happens during the third week...but not always. Mine was weeks 2 & 3)

Catwoman7 I'm so glad to hear what you said about the stall. I had my surgery 7/25/19, my stall started last week and I'm still stalled this week. I'm hoping that it breaks soon.

I had both a hiatal hernia repair and a gastric bypass on August 15,2019. Just had a three month follow up and have lost 33 pounds. My surgeon said based on where I started with a BMI of 35.5 10 pounds per month was right on schedule. It sounds like you’re doing well! Getting used to not drinking Water with my meals yet getting enough water has been a big change and challenge! I use peppermint Altoids for nausea when I eat too much or something that doesn’t sit well in my pouch! I hope you continue to be blessed!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
