@FluffyChix, yep you definitely have your MO glasses on. The person in these pics is positively SKINNY.

I'm not sure I always have my own glasses on, but I think I convinced myself I know exactly what I look like, and recognize what areas of my bod could use some improvement and what areas are awesome. The main difference is that I don't seem to have the associated self-loathing I carried around on my back like before. I mean, yeah, my arms are flabby*, my legs are thick and my butt non-existent, but these facts don't bring me down so far anymore. They are annoying, but no longer depressing.

*full disclosure, I am getting plastics to address my batwings EOY so my laissez-faire attitude about them may be taken with a grain of salt.

Yeah, I totally get this! I don’t have the same self-loathing as I did when MO. I’m generally very happy with how I feel in my skin most of the time. And feel good and normal when we’re out and about. But seeing pics of myself somehow still loads those old tapes and I see myself with extreme bias. And what’s weird is I would never think about applying those same critical filters to others—even if they were more gentle. Lol guess I’ve still got a lot of headwork left!!

How about y’all? Has your BD decreased with your losses and smokin hot outfits?

I’m no longer critical of how I look now that I’ve reached a healthy weight. It’s pretty much how I looked the majority of my life. I got obese fast so that was such a departure for me. I feel like me again and I feel comfortable in my own skin.

Everyone looks great, everyone is a different age and body type with different goals. This is a fun thread, be proud of what you’ve accomplished!

POD-doctor's outfit. :)

So seriously--damn you body dysmorphia. At 133lbs I "feel" thin in my body. You know? Or at least normal. I can now look in the mirror and think I just simply look normal. Right? But when I look at these pics in outfits I used to feel thin in, I think I look heavier than when the jeans were on the tight side. They are now on the loose side of life and I need to go down to an 8 in them. And my waist looks so "thick" (and clearly so do my fluffy thighs). *sigh* Anyone else have this issue even in their super hot outfits?

Too darling! Are those the Old Navy Pixie pants? So cute!

😂 Yep!

Unexpected side effect of my weight loss, I feel like I can wear inexpensive outfits and look completely put together. When I was heavy I always felt sloppy, and only partially counteracted that by wearing clothes that were well made and expensive. Now I feel equally fab in an outfit that costs $25 or $250.

I'm so impressed and inspired by all of you wearing sleeveless tops. My Elle Woods outfit is one of the few sleeveless outfits I own, and I had some trepidation about wearing it. Goes to show we are all more critical of ourselves, than anyone else is. :)

Visiting a client site today. Funny how I used to find no joy in having to choose something to wear for work, and now I almost (almost) wish I could go to office everyday so I can wear (and buy!) cute clothes.

Wearing my most favourite pair of "work" shoes...can wear these all day long AND they make me 3 inches taller (I have them in black too :) )

EDIT: OMG. I just noticed my shirt is a little too see-through in this picture...

😂😂 When I saw that shirt I thought your client must have a liberal dress code!

I'm very into patterned pants at the moment, and tucked in shirts (bodysuits cause I'm lazy), either of which I never would have worn pre WLS.

I also almost wish I had to get out of my leggings and T's more often, but then maybe the novelty of feeling like hot sh*t would wear off, and I wouldn't get the same thrill from it, you know?

I think this is a combo of body dysmorphia and not wearing fitted enough clothes.

I think that your jeans and your dresses are at least a size too big, and not making the most of your figure.

There is also the self critical factor. We are the same weight (you're 1" taller & +5 lbs in these pics, so the same), and you'd tell me I was crazy if I said my waist is thick and my thighs were fluffy, right?

It’s super weird, I don’t know how I got so tan this year. My best guess is I’ve spent more time outdoors than I have the past few years. My ADHD prevents me from staying still long enough to lay out in the sun past 20 minutes.

Old Navy shorts well represented on this thread!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
