Ok so where you able to walk afterwards? and how long was your stay.

My doctor doesn't use a Foley catheter (in the bladder), so after surgery lasting 4 hrs (because I had so many adhesions), I had to pee very badly when I finally got to my room! The aide got me up to the bathroom even though I was still groggy and rather dizzy. Within a couple hours I was up and walking on my own; they made me get out in the halls to walk every 2 hrs and I did it. I know this helped with pain control and healing.

My surgery was done in Birmingham, AL as an outpatient. After surgery, I spent the night in a nearby hotel and the nurse came by and checked on me and then I saw the doctor the next morning before going home. (Surgery on Thursday returned to work on Monday)
I didn’t have issues with pain and never took any pain medication.
Best decision ever! (Surgery April 2018, down 80lbs)

Which surgeon did yours? I was outpatient in Birmingham too. Dr. Long did mine.

My doc said that anyone who ever wants to take NSAIDS after surgery should have the sleeve. In fact I got sent home from the hospital with a script for ibuprofen and was told to alternate that with tylenol. So I have a hard time believing all these docs that don't want anyone with a sleeve to take NSAIDS.

Tylenol only.

With the general gastric problems associated with NSAIDS I've often wondered if a suppository formulation was available?

that is why i chose the sleeve evwn though i was diabetic and had gerd.. for that reason i depend on nsaid for all my aches and pains related to the obesity i carried for more than 25 years

My doctor allows NSAIDS after the sleeve but not after gastric bypass. I have osteoarthritis pretty badly, and I rely on Advil for pain control. My surgeon has no issues with it, at all.

I have a sleeve and unfortunately Tramadol, my go to for chronic back pain, has just been reclassified as an opioid, which makes it harder to get prescriptions and harder to get them filled.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
