Let’s talk bras! I can’t find one to fit my sagging bust lol

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies,

So since I have lost 149lbs (woot woot!), I am unable to find a real bra that fits. My loose skin under my armpit (side boob) and my now empty sagging boobs don’t fit comfortable in any bra. There’s always a huge gaping cup and I even stuff it but to no avail. I’ve gotten fitted many times but I swear they are wrong because it still doesn’t fit. They say I’m a 38C which is what I was before kids and before all the weight gain but I was much much fuller.

I’ve resorted to living in sports bras but you can’t wear nice shirts with a sports bra! Any suggestions would be appreciated! Pls let me know I’m not the only one not wearing a real adult bra! Lol

Thanks in advance:)

Excellent topic! I am so frustrated. Anxious to see what recommendations folks have.

I get fitted by the same nice, older lady at Bloomingdale's and have for the past 10 years! She gave me some options that have more coverage on the side to reign in the side boob. I also needed a smaller band and a larger cup size. Chantelle and Wacoal seem to fit me best. If you can afford it, my recommendation is to get fitted at a high-end dept. store by someone with a lot of experience, not a place like Victoria's Secret or similar.

I use Cacique brand bras from Lane Bryant and so far am not having any problems with fitting in the sagginess.

Floppy 1 and 2 inton near as I can figure a 36 between B and C cup. That's what we are missing, as the. Mom-and- Pop small local department stores phase out for Target and Wally World and their lower prices, the personal
touch is gone. And life is sadder for it. Z REMEMBER back when you sent a piece of paper in to find your ring size? Sure can't do that with boobies, I would LOL but it's a Sad state of affairs!

Try ThirdLove. They're really awesome and have half cup sizes too and a LARGE band and cup range. Plus you can try it and return it even if you've washed it, and they'll donate it to a women's shelter.

I go to a Soma store and have them fit me. Their bras are awesome !

Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I second Soma. The underwire in the bras that I have are high enough on the sides that it holds in all the side boob. And they hold their shape for a decent amount of time. And the outer side of the cups are firmly structured so that it gives your boobs a nice shape. And the straps are comfy.

And no, I do not work for Soma, lol.

Victoria secret fitting was way off. I walked out in a c cup and the girls were almost to my chin and looked like a shelf to set your coffee on. Soma fitting was great. Double D hides the side boob situation.

Thanks for your help! I’m in Canada so we don’t have a soma...sigh...you guys always get all the good stuff. It may just be an excuse to take a mini road trip for the sake of the “girls” lol.

I’m gonna check out Walmart to see if they have that tshirt bra and convertible back bra @greentealael was mentioning!

Fellow Canadian, and Soma bra-wearer here :) Yeah sucks no stores here, but if you ever get to a chance to go on that road trip and get fitted, you can buy online after that :)

Feel like it's time for a status update, I haven't been on here regularly in a while and I need to keep my mindset focused on my goals.
I haven't weighed myself in ~ 3 weeks.  I think I'm becoming the opposite of "obsessive" about tracking my progress and it could cause me some issues.  The good thing is that there have still been quite a number of NSV's happening that is telling me that I'm still progressing without knowing what the scale says.
First one is that a belt I bought about 5 weeks ago because all my other belts were too big is also on the last hole so I'll have to buy yet another belt again.  second, I bought new jeans about a month ago and I have a lot more slack in the waist than I did when I purchased them.  I also boarded a plane and had about 8 inches of slack in the belt.  Finally, I hit my goal last week of being able to ride go-carts with my kids.  The last time I tried about 4 years ago, I had to leave because I couldn't fit in the harness.  This was sweet victory and I showed those two how it was done on the race course!!  😈

I just looked through all my old pants after my pre-op pants started getting to big. Keep in mind that I wear men's pants (usually cargos) because I am so tall 5'10"/5'11" ish. I also find that men's baggies tend to fit me better.
I started out at a 44 in waist pant and quickly found that I was back down to my 42's. So even when thise got to be too big, I had to start pulling old clothes out of storage. After finding my 38's, I thought that these would not yet fit, but when I tried them on, they fit perfectly. I also found some older pants that now fit better than I remembered. What a relief! It's not like I can pop down to the store like I could do in the US and the styles here in Sweden are all skinnt jeans which I cant stand. I also found some 36's, but I'm not mentally ready to try those on yet. The biggest challenge will be buying women's clothing again.

slow and steady wins the race.  don't get discouraged and just keep at it. Let your sleeve do its job and try not to stress yourself out.
hope you are all having a great summer and enjoying what your sleeve has given you.
just got back from a wedding in OR. and man am i afraid to get on the scale

Great reminder about how fast you can lose weight. The mind games we play with ourselves are the worst.
