A little over one month till my surgery. Just couple things I’m looking forward to.
Wearing lingerie (at least matching bra and panties)
Easier time wiping my butt. Anyone else have that struggle??
Wearing a non skirt bathing suit.
Confidence
Shop in non plus size sections.

Yes, being able to wipe your ass whenever and wherever is verry liberating . Threw out my tongs months ago . lol

I look forward to not worrying whether or not I'll break someones toilet seat when I visit their restroom. What ever would I say to them? Honestly, the fear is real! I've done it twice but luckily, I was at home both times.

Looking forward to:

- being able to see past my boobs and belly

-tying my shoes and breathing at the same time

-having my arms out in the summer (I always hiding them in a tshirt or kimono)

-being able to look at myself in the mirror without avoiding it

-taking back my agility (played a sport year round in highschool and basketball in college)

This was my first go at this.. cant wait to see what else I think of,

Being able to breathe while putting on shoes feels really good!

...and I cant wait until I can get back to real sports as well. Even though im 47, Im finally able to get that foot surgery that ended me playing volleyball in college. Although I suspect that I will have to get a breast reduction to ever play again. Having a G+ cup isnt cuting it for running or dives etc.

Btw, the looking at the mirror thing is a bit difficult, so dont get down on yourself when you lose weight over it. Ive lost more than 100 lbs and I still cant really "see" any difference in myself. I can manage to look at myself in the mirror without feeling immediate depression, but it's only my clothes size that tells me Ive lost weight. Im a year out (and 7 months post-op) and can only start to see any changes now. Not because there arnt any, but because my mind cant wrap itself around it. Oddly enough my body remembers feeling lighter and wants to go back to sports, but my lungs still havnt caught up.

Mine would be

1. Not feeling ashamed walking next to my hubby. He works out daily and constantly gets told he looks like The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson. He's tall, buff, and handsome. When I am with him I feel like people stare and think ugh why is he with her she's fat.

2. Be comfortable going to my hubby's work functions. I don't go because I feel like I would embarrass him with my weight.

3. Be able to walk up the stairs without being winded

4. Not wearing plus size clothing.

5. I have PCOS so it gives me a metabolic disorders which makes me gain weight and I am looking forward to that being gone along with the other symptoms like excessive Hair growth (i could probably grow a decent chin beard if I wanted) and acne. PCOS is the DEVIL!

I totally understand. My hubs lost 160# a few years ago and his spin instructor invited him to her 40th bday party- super swanky and lavish. I didn’t go because hello?? A spin instructor??

I have always wanted to have a collection of jackets. Like lots to use as accessories. Now I’m usually just stuck buying functional jackets that I can get in my size and wearing the hell out of them.
I’m looking forward to being able to shop in any store and buy interesting or sale jackets and have a collection I don’t look like I’m squeezed into!

Yes!! I never could find cute, accessory jackets that fit right that didn't cost an arm and a leg. It is nice being able to fit stuff over my arms now.

Weird? Hmm.. I’m looking forward to a lot of things ... Weirdly enough, I want to jump in my husbands arms and be able to wrap my legs around his waist .. sounds silly but when he picks me up, my legs just dangle. That’s not sexy!

I totally feel this... My fiance is a 6'4" sexy beast of a man and although he hates the idea of me having this surgery I am looking forward to the day I can do this

Ugh I cannot wait to feel freee while tying my shoes!!! This body feels so foreign to me because I was in shape for so long. Good to hear that you’ll be able to get foot surgery and I hear you loud and clear on that breast reduction. I thought I had back problems when I was a C cup. Lord have mercy... little did I know.

that makes a lot of sense. I hope that I’ll be able to learn to love my appearance for what it is while going through the recovery process. I think most of my life I’ve based my confidence on the opinion of others instead of my own. Although I’m sure it’ll take my mind a while to catch up with my body. Thank you for sharing!!!

Feel cold. I hear that a lot of post-op women are surprised to feel cold all the time. I welcome that! I sweat all. the. time. If I could wear cute layers in the fall, that would be nice... but I'd really like to just not sweat like a pig all the freaking time from doing normal stuff like walking around or doing light chores.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
