I am about 3 weeks post op and on the purée phase for the next three weeks. I am at a loss as to what to eat, as everything I have tried tastes horrible except for yogurt and broth. It also doesn’t help that I cannot keep down my chewable vitamins and the Protein Shakes are making me feel nauseous all the time. Any ideas of other things to eat?

Ricotta Bake (google for recipe) seems to be a puree phase favorite. Also refried Beans or pureed beans of any kind.

I would suggest Pinterest and search Bariatric diet, there are a few things there that are really good.

My go to's for that phase were pureed roasted veggies like cauliflower, butternut squash, beets, and sweet potatoes. Pureed fresh fruits like mango, strawberries (sieve for seeds), bananas, etc. I also liked FF cottage cheese, yogurt, SF Jello and SF pudding. I hated the broth, I still have several packets of that awful Bone Broth everyone raves about....yuck... 🤢 For the pureed fresh produce, I recommend getting the Nutri-Ninja. That thing will puree a brick if you tried, I think.

I ate yogurt, cottage cheese, ricotta bake and chicken salad... not much else sounded good.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
