84lbs in not quite 6 months. Down a total of 140 or so pounds. Just got below 200 yesterday for the first time since I was around 13 years old or so. Best decision I’ve ever made for me and my family.

I’m 3 months post gastric bypass and have lost around 52lbs so far. My highest weight when I started this journey was 330lbs, pre surgery weight was 284.7lbs, and my current weight fluctuates between 231-234lbs. My goal weight is 160lbs so I have around 70lbs left before I get there.

Thanks for sharing this!

Yes, those numbers seem low, but I’m okay with that.

I feel as if I’ve really slowed down at 60 pounds lost at 4.months, but I’m about where I should be at the 6 month mark.

I started at 246 pounds on sleeve day

Hi All - Happy 4th weekend! Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday. I was excited to report this time last year we would have feasted on 2 ½ Boar's Head hot dogs, macaroni salad, Wise potato chips and apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Oh boy! This year - I am now 6 months out and 85 pounds down AND prepared a new menu of Tomato and watermelon salad with roasted hazelnuts, shrimp and filet tenderloin grilled kebabs with lots of veggies and chia seed chocolate sugar free pudding! Still only able to eat a few bites of each item BUT never felt deprived or the ability to enjoy such a big food centered holiday. I love my sleeve!

How did everyone do? What did you enjoy eating? Exploring new strategies to get me moving toward my goal of 130 at 5 feet tall! Any idea's or suggestions welcomed? Want to look fabulous for our 25th vow renewal ceremony with dinner and dance next spring - May 17, 2020. ;]

9 weeks out and have lost 24 lbs. I had a stall for about 8 days. I’m very happy with 10-12 lbs per month!

Well this is just sad. Surgery was 1/22/19 and I’ve only lost 52 pounds. I wish it was more :(

Results vary every 'body' is different

I've seen people at 6 months lose between 50 and 100lbs constantly.

You must commit 150% to the diet guidelines and include some form of exercise to see best results!

The surgery is a tool bit it's up to you to utilise it as best you can!!

I think this is a really good steady weight loss that is realistic. Great reminder to just keep going - make the right choices, keep pushing through the stalls.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
