Best Bralette?

Recommended Posts

OK ladies - I'm headed on vacation. Bras take up a lot of room, so I thought about traveling with a bralette or something without an underwire/non-molded cups. But, I have the typical WLS problem of SUPER droopy breasts that are still decently large. So, anyone have a rec for a bralette or something similarly easily packable that is still supportive? Thanks!

True, but I have a hard time wearing sports bras under real clothes. And for some reason my back usually hurts when I wear a sports bra (probably because I have the wrong ones, but how does one find the right ones?)

Some stores provide a bra fitting service

I can only think of a sports bra, one that doesn't much your boobs together like a uniboob. I have the same problem you do, they're still decently large, but sagging with gravity and in my case, age. I think I got a decent one at Lane Bryant. But of course the problem with sports bras is they make you sweat more and if you're going somewhere tropical you don't want to sweat. Sorry I don't know anything about bralettes.

I have a couple of Shapewear tanks with no wire or molded cups but they are made in such a way that they do provide support and are pretty comfortable. It is important to try them on since you want a pretty snug fit. This one is from Maidenform but I got it for cheap at Ross Dress for Less. I actually apply antiperspirant under my boobs after a shower and then use some Gold Bond powder to prevent itchy boob sweat when wearing these. I also have a couple of non padded underwire racerback style bras that work well and take up no room at all.

Maybe a t-shirt bra? Bras are hard. I go to a local bra shop with fitters even after PS

If you have larger breasts, a bralette Isn’t a good choice. No support

My normal bras all have support. I just like being a little more comfortable when I travel. And I like bras that are easier to pack than my normal bras.

I understand the convenience of them, I was weighing in from a larger breast point of view. I have Ds and a bra lette makes them look saggy and droopy

Oh, the girls will 100% look saggy and droopy, I just don't care all that much when I'm on vacation :) My #1 priority is packing a little as possible in as small a footprint as possible :)

I would recommend Torrid for a good bralette. My friend has a problem of dealing with larger breasts, and she absolutely loves their bralettes. Plus, they are super cute and super comfortable!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
