Flintstone are not what you want to take. Take a chewable multi Vitamin such as Jamison I take 2 in the morning. This was after surgery, and I take 3 chewable Calcium that are made by Jamison as well. calcium citrate is better because it’s easier to be absorbed.

Does it have to be chewable?

My dietician does not recommend flintstones, vitamin patches, or the Vitamin kreurig thing. She recommend the Bariatric Advantage chewable and then 2 cal chews- i take the BA solo with Iron and then 2 hours later a cal chew and then a few hours later another chew. She said your body won't obsorb the Calcium if you take right after the pill. After having the sleeve I developed a horrible texture issue and couldn't do the chews. They were like a super thick flintstone and made me gag

Can you take tablets instead of chewables?

mine said Flintstones but I'd read quite a bit about them not having everything we need. I asked the nutritionist about Centrum (or the generic equivalent), and she said those were even better. Not sure why they just don't recommend Centrum instead. Although my surgery was almost four years ago - maybe they do recommend Centrum now (??). At any rate, I've been taking them this whole time. chewables for the first few months, regular tablets now.

Yeah I think that's what I'm gonna do, too. They told me to take Flinstones but I keep hearing bad things about it. Thank you!

I’m pre-op and I’m taking BariMelts Vitamins. I never took Vitamins before so I decided I better get into the habit before surgery.

Yeah it's difficult to remember if you've never taken medicine regularly before. I'm struggling too...

My surgeon sent one year supply of bariatric Multivitamins & Iron to my insurance to collect b4 surgery. After that I plan to get the same ones unless my team says otherwise.

OMG I want to ask my surgeon to do the same thing for me. I hope I can. Thanks!

My sister is a representative for the Vitamin company Shaklee and that’s what I’m taking! I’m doing just fine with them. I invested in a nice pill organizer that organizes my Vitamins by the time of day, so each Saturday I load up my pill organizer for the week. I super recommend that! So helpful!

This is what I take. I was told I have to space out my Calcium this way to absorb enough, and not to take it at the same time as Iron. These are the brands my program recommends. I have since found identical Vitamins that are CVS generics. Because I'm a member I get BOGO and 20% off their brand name, which makes them pretty affordable.
BariMelts Biotin worked so well on me I started to get hair in unwanted places and discontinued. I've had no hairloss at 6 months.
These are all normal pills I swallow except the Calcium, which are chews
Morning
• One A Day Women’s Vitamin
Vitamin D 2,000
• Vitron C Iron
Vitamin B12 500 mcg
• IC Ursodiol 300 mg
Noon
• Viactive Calcium
Dinner
• Viactive Calcium
Evening
• Viactive Calcium
• IC Ursodiol 300 mg

I think Flintstones are okay short term when youre starting out on chewables but as you get further out you'll want to switch to something more fitting. A lot of people take the Multivitamins that you take 4 times a day but I prefer the complete ones that I only have to remember to take once several hours out from my Calcium. Right now I'm taking ProCare Now Vitamins but when I'm out I might try the BariatricPal multis they sell in the online store.

My surgery is April 4 andmy doctor told me to start taking my Vitamins last week. I was told to take Flinstones Multivitamins but I remember reading an article online saying they're actually not as good as other multivitamins. I dont know. I'm trying to salvage my hair and such. What were you told to take? For people who've already had the surgery, what helped you?

I take Centrum Multi Vitamins with Iron. Between Centrum and Calcium, I take them 5x throughout the day. I start with my Calcium when I wake up with my B12. Then every 3 hours I take my Vitamins, then Calcium, then Vitamins again then Calcium. It took awhile to get used to it. I think sometimes, I even overtake them because I forget whether I took them already or not, so I just take them again. ngek.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
