my Cosmotologist Shelia did confirm yesterday my hair is thinning a little but,I think I am doing well for 6 months. Besides I am a thin -haired redhead in the first place, doesn't it just figure though, my fingers , wrists and now my hair are the only things naturally thin about ME. Everything else is bulky, flabby or needs serious costuming help! [emoji47]
Yes, my friend said you lose the weight where you don't need to first! If only we could reconfigure where we are fat lol...

I went to the dermatologist yesterday and he recommended 2 other Vitamins that are supposedly better than biotin: Viviscal Vitamin and Nutrafol....ordered them last night and now I an waiting to try them and see if they work, I am not as confident bald...

Im a little over 5 months out, and I started losing hair around the 3 month mark - alot. I had thin hair to begin with and I’ve lost so much I don’t know how I have any left. It feels like its slowing down a little bit now but the difference is noticable.
My dermatologist just recommended 2 other Vitamins to try, I dont know if they work but: Viviscal and Nutrafal if anyone had tried them, I would love to know if you have had good results...I am ready to try anything at this point...I have jojoba oil, Biotin shampoo...I am trying everything!

I already have fine and thin hair, so I can't afford to lose any. I'm three months post-op for sleeve and haven't noticed any loss yet. Keeping fingers crossed.

Hi all

I am on Tier 4 of my Gastric Bypass journey and now waiting for the op, however I have heard some really disturbing stories about losing your hair after surgery. Can any one tell me if they have suffered from this? And if so is there anything that I can do to stop this from happening?

I am 50 and work in a job where I am staff and client facing so would like to know if these stories that I have heard are true and also whether it happens with the sleeve/bypass etc.

Many thanks

I had bypass in November. My Hair loss started 3 weeks out and is still going strong 4.5 months later, lol. Probably have lost about 40% of my volume. But whatever, I guess. My hair just looks really thin and if I have a ponytail up you can see some bald spots... but it'll grow back eventually.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
