What Lotions & Creams have you tried during weightloss.

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I'm currently one month post op and have noticed that I am getting considerably leaner skin already, it's not all puffy like it use to be. Which makes me realize that I need lotions and creams, and whatever I need to use to help my skin go through this changing time. I'm hoping to have it bounce back the best it can. I am realistic, but I'm hoping there are some good products that can at least help it along. I'm looking for body, face, neck, and any other targeted lotions, creams, or treatments you may have tried. And if they were a win or a fail. Thank you to whoever takes the time to help me out ❤️

After surgery, my face developed very paper thin fine wrinkles, the kind that you see on 100 year old people. Granted I am no young spring chicken at the current age of 70 but these really fine wrinkles was disconcerting. My wife advised me to use Bio-Oil on my face and that took away the wrinkles. You can find this product in drug stores like CVS or Walmart and at other places.

I second the Bio-oil. I started using it as soon as my incisions healed. I apply after a shower/bath and use it everywhere (arms, legs, hips, abdomen, chest). I can't say that it has totally prevented sagging issues, but my skin is sure soft and I have virtually no scars from my incisions.

Thank you for the info. I will definitely look up that oil and see what the benefits are.

Really? Good to know! I'm already using Bio-Oil on my scars from the sleeve surgery, so now I'll try some on my face! Woo-hoo!

I didn't know about the Bio-oil but will try it. I am using Vitamin E, I spray on after shower. And sometimes Aloe lotion too. I just stated on the Gold Bond Neck firming cream also and it's been helping also.

I've never heard of Boi Oil but it's going on my shopping list, and the Gold Bond neck firming lotion.. Thanks for the suggestions.

I used Vitamin E on my stomach area, primarily to help with healing but I've noticed my skin seems much firmer since I've been using it. I started about 1 month post op. Prior to that I had just been using regular lotion on my scars, my surgeon recommended Vitamin E.

Recently I started using St. Ives collagen and elastin lotion on the rest of my body, it's been about 2-3 weeks. I'm noticing a difference for sure, definitely a lot softer and the crepey skin that is above my knees seems to be less. I also use that on my neck area and it seems to be helping there as well.

I’m going to have to look into the bio oil too. I’ve used Eucerin Advanced Therapy lotion for years due to the dry skin from diabetes so that’s all I’m currently using . But my face!! I’ve had the exact opposite. Since surgery I’ve been getting zits! I’ve had to go back to using Stridex and Clearasil . Haven’t had that problem in 40 years . But I’ll swap a zit for pounds any day of the week

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
