Inspiring I want me some boobs now too I’m a 34D and worry what they will look like a year from now now I know they is hope

Congratulations on your surgery!!! You are gonna do great!! I waited 9 months after my sleeve surgery to get implants. I was at my goal weight. I got both a breast augmentation surgery (implants) and breast lift surgery with Dr. Michael Ciaravino and he charged $10,800. I was overjoyed at how affordable he was because I had previously gotten quotes from other doctors at $21,000 and $18,000. Yikes. There's no way I could swing that.

With implants, you get your usual mammogram each year but the technician will take additional photos so they can get a better look behind your implants. People worry about rupturing an implant during a mammogram but that is rarer than rare. Here's a link I looked at:

https://www.cancer.org/cancer/breast-cancer/screening-tests-and-early-detection/mammograms/mammograms-for-women-with-breast-implants.html

Good luck on your new weight loss journey!!! :D :D

Thank you so much! So first, I'll tell you that I trusted my doctor's opinion and he recommended the high profile round implants. I definitely desired a natural tear drop shape and he said that with my extra skin and fat (lol) that I don't need the Gummy bear implant; my breasts will "drop and fluff" as they say and that will create the look I'm going for (and it's cheaper apparently). Second, I took the most flattering pics in those tops! LOL I play with angles and lighting and posing. Hahaha. See attached for how my tummy looks at its worst! I sucked it in on one side shot and let loose in the other. I would definitely like a TT and BBL too!! Is surgery an addiction? Eeeeek!!

Thanks for the great info. I also want a natural teardrop shape post BL/BA, so I've been focused on implants that shape. Definitely will have a more open mind and go with my surgeon recommendations (when I find one 😅)

Thanks for the tummy pics! That's a lot closer to where I'm at. There are definitely angles that are more flattering than others.

@GreenTealael posted this in the Weight Loss Funnies thread, this is totally me

Boobs take a long time to heal...just like our stomachs. The scars are looking better and they have really dropped and fluffed. Just wanted to post an update. Another before and after. This BL/BA was like the crown on top of sleeve surgery. I highly recommend if you're considering it. I have even more confidence and I didn't think that was possible after the sleeve. Lol

You're right! LOL I can barely tell where they are in the pic! (Lighting is everything!!) I can tell which shadows are them though. Haha. But all of them healed pretty well except for one which is bumpy and a lighter color than the rest of my skin. I probably should have been better with the bio oil. Sigh.

That’s awesome!!
Mine have faded but the one where they pulled the stomach portion they took out is still hard and you can still see it.

My weight finally stabilized around 145 (original goal weight), so I went forward with surgery for a breast lift with implants (Dr. Ciaravino in Houston is amazing). I lost 72 lbs total after the sleeve but added approximately 1.5 lbs of implants (Mentor MemoryGel Smooth Round High Profile 350cc). I cry when I see these photos side by side. I got sleeved on 2/28/2018 and got these boobs 9 months later on 11/30/2018. What a year.

Hey I know this post is old. I live just south of Houston. I heard ciaravino is really good before I even saw your post. Unfortunately when I called for a consult he is now the director and doesn’t do surgery anymore. He has a new surgeon working under him. Soooo I’m not super comfortable with that. Bummer bc I herd so many great things. Your pics look Great!!

I know this is an old posting but it’s the most recent on the subject. I haven’t seen much activity on the forums lately. I’ve actually scheduled plastics for June that includes belt Lipectomy / butterfly lift, thigh lift and ... why I’m on this topic, augmentation.

im torn in some ways and it’s hard to ask without a long story. Short version. Or not so short ... I’ve battled my weight forever. I’ve never been the weight I’m at today as long as I can remember, heck I could have been 9 years old for all I know. My chest size was problematic. I’d swear they grew overnight at a young age and were massive dense breast tissue that sagged terribly and were painful. (I was also bullied)

When I was finally old enough to seek out reduction surgery my weight had skyrocketed due to metabolic disorders. I went from what the school called mildly obese 135lbs to 180lbs practically overnight. It was a very stressful time. I’m grateful for the clinic I went to and the surgeon that fought for me who knew losing weight wouldn’t fix the problem.

I guess When I first lost weight I only managed to maintain 134lbs I would say my bra size was 30H/30FF UK ? I never reached goal for my height until now. Until I finally had the tool of gastric bypass surgery. I’d say I’m 28D at best. (I haven’t bought new bras I’m just wearing cheap sports bras) But my right side has a kind of um ... dent In it. Although I don’t need a lift the skin is deflated. I was never full on top so now it’s rather bony. (It was even at my heaviest now it’s more noticeable)

it’s hard to talk about. I’m not the most feminine person. I’ve always been rather neither here nor there. I only recently bought a few old navy Jersey swing dresses. Mostly for comfort during recovery. Part of me can do without boobs and bras and all that. The other is like wow I could Finally fill out a nice bra without having a ski slope or having to wear a moulded cup bra ... Talk about split personality.

ive planned on it, it’s silicon implant up to 575cc. I just haven’t thought about it. I have no idea what size I’d go. ive got my flight booked and I’m trying to prepare yet at the same time I haven’t had the head space to think about it. The other two procedures are priority this is the I’m there why not part.

I don’t know, the women here are beautiful and have reason to want to have the surgery to feel good. And have great results. But I’m not and im also alone. I question am I even worth it. I am doing this because I fought like hell to lose 105lbs and want the ugly wrinkled excess skin gone. But I guess I’m dealing with issues I can’t verbalize or process. Or talk through.

I hesitate to post. I’m juggling some things that have been delayed due to Covid. While planning this. I did write a post about it. I didn’t go into detail about this aspect. One part of these forums that bothers me is if I am uncomfortable about my post I can’t remove it. Hopefully I haven’t just said a lot of nonsense ...

So I guess after gastric bypass surgery, I cant eat flock chips because they are fried???  They sell them on here so I thought I could have them. So high in protein and no carbs.  They don't bother me at all.  Help.

It's possible for a very high fat meal to cause dumping in some (30% or so) gastric bypass patients, although it's more likely to be triggered by high sugar, or by the high fat/high sugar combo (think ice cream, donuts). Dietitians will tell you to never do anything that isn't 100% healthy ever again. Realistically, you should aim for a good balance of protein, carbs, and fat each day. Should you eat fried foods every day? No. Is it possible they will make you sick? Maybe. Is it okay to eat some to see what happens and have them for a treat every now and again? Yes.

I'm not at all hungry on this liquid pre-op diet, but I miss the sensation of chewing. It's been about two weeks––surgery is in two days––and I can't imagine how I'll feel a couple of weeks post-op. Tonight, I randomly stumbled upon a mukbang channel on YouTube, and it was strangely soothing... is it just me, or is this a thing?

I actually watched cooking shows during my pre-op, like Great British Baking Show. It was a little bizarre, but didn't make me hungry. I think it was also soothing in a way.

How do you figure out what your ideal weight should be? I've had a figure in my head for years, but after 3 mths of recovery I'm already almost there. So maybe my goal should be lower?

Well, there is actually a formula for "Ideal Body Weight" and you can use a calculator to figure it out for you. This one also does an adjusted weight for a person who starts out overweight or obese. https://www.mdcalc.com/calc/68/ideal-body-weight-adjusted-body-weight

I would use that as a starting point, and then just see how you feel as you lose. How you look and feel is more important than a number.

      2. Clueless_girl

I did find different calculators but I couldn't find any that accounted for body frame. But you're right, it is just a number. It was just disheartening to see that although I lost 60% of my excess weight, it's still not in the "normal/healthy" range..

      3. NickelChip

I think it's important to remember that the weight charts and BMI ranges were developed a very long time ago and only intended to be applied to people who have never been overweight or obese. Those numbers aren't for us. When you are larger, especially for a long time, your body develops extra bone to support the weight. Your organs get a little bigger to handle the extra mass. Your entire infrastructure increases so you can support and function with the extra weight. That doesn't all go away just because you burn off the excess fat. If you still had a pair of jeans from your skinniest point in life and then lost weight to get to the exact number on the scale you were when those jeans fit you, chances are they would be a little baggy now because you would actually be thinner than you were, even though the scale and the BMI chart disagree. When in doubt, listen to the jeans, not the scale!

Tomorrow marks two weeks since surgery day and while I'm feeling remarkably well and going about just about every normal activity, I did wind up with a surface abscess on on of my incision sights and was put on an antibiotic that made me so impacted that it took me more than two hours to eliminate yesterday and scared the hell out of me. Now there's Miralax in all my beverages that aren't Smooth Move tea. I cannot experience that again. I shouldn't have to take Ativan to go to the lady's. I really looking forward to my body getting with the program again.
I'm in day three of the "puree" stage of eating and despite the strange textures, all of the savory flavors seem decadent.
I timed this surgery so that I'd be recovering during my spring break. That was a good plan. Today is a state holiday and the final day of break. I feel really strong to return to school tomorrow.

Now that I'm in maintenance mode, I'm getting a into a routine for my meals. Every day, I start out with 8-16 ounces of water, and then a proffee, which I have come to look forward to even the night before. My proffees are simply a black coffee with a protein powder added. There are three products that I cycle through: Premier Vanilla, Orgain Vanilla, and Dymatize Vanilla.
For second breakfast on workdays, I will have a low-fat yogurt with two tablespoons of PBFit and two teaspoons of no sugar added dried cherries. I will have ingested 35-45 grams of protein at this point between the two breakfasts, with 250-285 calories, and about 20 carbs.
For second breakfast on non-workdays, I will prepare two servings of plain, instant oatmeal with a tablespoon of an olive oil-based spread. This means I will have had 34 grams of protein, 365 calories, and 38 carbs. Non-workdays are when I am being very active with training sessions, so I allow myself more carbohydrate fuel.
Snacks on any day are always mixed nuts, even when I am travelling. I will have 0.2 cups of a blend that I make myself. It consists of dry roasted peanuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pistachios, and Brazil nuts. This is 5 grams of protein, 163 calories, and 7 carbs.
Breakfast and snacks have been the easiest to nail down. Lunch and dinner have more variables, and I prepare enough for leftovers. I concentrate on protein first, and then add vegetables. Typically tempeh, tofu, or Field Roast products with roasted or sautéed vegetables. Today, I will be eating leftovers from last night. Two ounces of tempeh with four ounces of roasted vegetables that consist of red and yellow sweet peppers, sweet potatoes, small purple potatoes, zucchini, and carrots. I will add a tablespoon of olive oil-based spread, break up 3 walnuts to sprinkle of top, and garnish with two tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese. This particular meal will be 19 grams of protein, 377 calories, and 28 grams of carbs. Bear in mind that I do eat more carbs when I am not working, and I focus on ingesting healthy carbs instead of breads/crackers/chips/crisps.
It's a helluva journey and I'm thankful to be on it!
