Protien and Broth!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

This past Monday I finally got sleeved and I am having so much trouble finding ways to get my protien in! During the pre-op diet I guzzled down Protein Shakes (even though they made me gag) but now I’m post-op and I’ve tried the premier protien clear and it’s disgusting! I also wanted to know if any one had any tips for broth! I drank it fine pre-op but now even the mere thought of broth makes me gag! I’ve been living on sugar free popsicles for the past 3 days! Help! Does anyone have any recommendations on ways to get my Protein and broth in during the clear liquid stage??

I take the chicken noodle Soup or vegetable beef and drain off the broth. It tastes a lot better.

I prefer Protein20 Protein Water from Sam's. Not quite as sweet. Also, the other ones can be mixed with sugar-free lemonade to lessen the sweetness. Don't get too concerned about your protein right now, hydration is the most important. It takes a lot of people a few weeks to get all their protein

Have you tried any Protein powders instead of RTD protein? I'm not a fan of RTD drinks; they taste super artificial and have a bad after taste to me. For me, powders have a better taste.

I had my husband get wonton Soup from my favorite Chinese restaurant- and then strained it (he ate the “good stuff”!) It was comfortingly familiar and was my favorite broth the first couple of weeks after my sleeve.

I want to try those, but they are so expensive. Is there anywhere I can buy just one bottle to try? I'd hate to buy a case and not like them.

Try GNC, I am told they often have individual bottles , like you, I also hate to commit unless I really like something.😝

I am still pre op but I agree that the Premier Protein Clears are gross. I bought a pack, and when I ran out of shakes I tried to drank one...YUCK! I could only get it down by adding about 1/2 pack of crystal light lemonade packet.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
