My rule that I use is: If a hard boiled egg sounds appealing to you, then it's real hunger. If it isn't and instead it's something comforty? It's head hunger.

If I had to use this measure I would die of hunger, I HATE hard boiled eggs, dry disgusting things that make your mouth feel horrible. Those along with bananas, brussel sprouts and peas yuck

Please note the bolder sentence. We are not the same peeps, so I wouldn’t expect that to work. I’m sure you have something that works for u while disgusting me? Maybe vegemite and celery? 😆🤓😳😜

I knew what your message was it was just the thought of those horrible dry hard boiled eggs, I had to comment.

Vegemite and celery, I can eat both but not together! Strangely celery is a food I always used to hate but I now love the stuff. Peas have been the stuff of my nightmares since my Dad forced me to eat them as a kid. I had to cover them in ketchup and swallow them whole!

Right.... let me join you people, I had my surgery on 23rd of October... lost 22kg since... I don’t know wether I am the only one or what but at the moment thinking more of a how to become stronger and so on instead of loosing more... maybe coz I had some messups... complications to be exact... internal bleeding, few collapses, so for first two weeks survived only on Water and drips, then third week baby food and Protein yoghurt (skyr), now already started more solid foods and some raw fruits and veggies... so no Protein Shakes whatsoever... now more or less try everything... I don’t know wether it is right or wrong but this is how I do... twice had light dumping syndrome - once from baby porridge or something that my doctor thought might work for me as it was for sensitive babies but apparently I am not one of them lol and once from something else that I won’t remember but both were just a bit sweating and heart beat raised... nothing else... so I consider myself quite lucky there... potassium level went significantly down so they say this is why I am so weak??? Is anyone else having this? Due to that internal bleeding earlier on I am not allowed any physical activity yet... can’t wait until I will ... does anyone else feels no energy? Have youbsterted on normal food? Or am I running too fast forward??? So strange when you have noone to chat? Thanks anyway I hope everyone will get where they aiming to :)

Well got up nauseous, took my Zofran, when tummy settled tried a 1/4 cup 1% cottage cheese I need the Protein although my pouch really only desires liquids like cream Soups and Protein Shakes. Fought it to where I think it is staying down, and now my ulcers are whining, almost time for my Noon Carafate. Am I starving? Pretty sure I am, malabsorbing the whole 9 yards. But I have lost 64 pounds, a little under 30 kg, since 31st July. I just am not always certain that the trade-off was totally in my best long-term interests.

Has anyone else had to do 3 weeks of liquids only post-op? I’m 10 days post-op and I’m sooooooo hungry! Not sure I can do this for another 11 days. I’m getting in 84+ grams of Protein a day. I think I’m getting in enough water! Seriously going nuts over here! I just want to CHEW something solid! 😭😭😭😭

My apt is Tuesday and I’m hoping to go to puréed foods. This would make two weeks of liquids post op. I’m HANGRY as well!!! I did have a few bites of leftover mashed taters and it was sooo good even cold. Had a couple bites of turkey dressing and made sure to chew a long time. I’m with you, and getting more and more hungry post op. Not sure I can keep drinking Protein shakes!!!

Yes I did. And I was way under required calories for way too long... now I am not fully a week after my phases of liquid and soft food... obviously I am not eating anything super hard yet but more or less solids getting in to me... you can do all the days... just make sure you drink a lot... I know I am not the first one to say, and I know you will deny it for yourself... well this is how I was anyway in denial with understanding how Water can help with hunger or so... but now 3rd day I am on the case to get in myself 2 litres of water or tea as I don’t like anything else anyway... and you know what I need to be reminded to eat... but before I felt like I was starving myself to death... honestly... if I am out in town for long and accidentally don’t have water for long enough then I am starting to feel hungry again and I get something to try new or so... but this is how my holiday time goes at the moment... will see how it goes further... so good luck with your diet it, you can definitely do it without fail just try to keep yourself hydrated and see wether it will be better:)

Hard boiled eggs nasty runny slimy barely cooked(.a.k,a. over easy) eggs that coat the back of your throat with a noxious film are even worse👅

I :780_sparkling_heart: soft boiled eggs, poached eggs with runny yolks and over easy/medium fried eggs. I love European omelettes and Gordon Ramsay's scrambled eggs with soft set eggs.

The world is a big place filled with wonderful tastes and differences between people! Embrace the egg. Pssssst eggs are also FABULOUS for your brain and liver health being super high in many nutrients such as choline!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
