I had an easy surgery and recovery in May (2018).
I was a fairly low weight by the time surgery day rolled around (180lbs) so I sailed to goal (150lbs) by mid August, with a couple minor stalls along the way.
I readjusted my goal to 140lbs. I hit that a couple weeks later and thought, perhaps I’d like to try out 135lbs.
No matter what I do, I cannot get beyond 139lbs.
I have been bouncing between 140 and 139 for 4 weeks.
It doesn’t matter what I change; activity, calories, sodium, fat, Protein, fluid...
I dropped another size during the first week of this stall but nothing since.
Could this simply be another stall or is this my body saying, “You need to live here, Sweetie.”
I’m okay either way. Just a little confused.

Have you done a body composition or DEXA body analysis? Even calipers by a skilled professional will get your pretty close to the results from DEXA which can be skewed by hydration levels. I'd maybe look at doing that, then you would have your answer! :)

Congrats btw!!! 139 at 5'6" sounds like a nice place to land--smack in the middle of the green zone!

Thanks. This is a good weight for me. I have super dense bones so I always weigh heavier than I look. I had x-rays on my wrist and elbow done Thursday and the first thing the Doctor said when she came in the room after was, “I don’t know what you’re doing but you have great bones!” (That music to the ears of a 50+ year old woman, trust me!) :) Just thought the extra 4 pounds off would be fun because it would put me back at my on-camera weight when I was in my mid-twenties.
I’ll ask my primary about a body analysis. She’s pretty receptive to the whole process.

And Precious Pouch,is the Empress of the World, she is certain of that! Never suspected a turkey egg-sized piece of gastric flesh would so want run things!

Fantastic weight loss!. You see a difference on-camera with 4 pounds? Things I never knew.

This can be that your body has less fat to burn. It's feeling comfortable at your current weight. You can be at a healthy BMI and rock your fabulous self. It also does not mean you have to live here forever. Your body may need a bit of a break before you can get back into weight loss mode for the additional four.

Take the 140 and move on with your life.

getting fixated on moving that goal down can do a lot more harm than good at this point.

Congrats on your success now move on. You did it. you have arrived at the new you now move to the maintaining your weight stage.

Dont read the above as said in a mean way its more light hearted than that its just i understand how consuming the process of weight loss can be.

I also had a great surgery and rapid weight loss like clock work. Then i hit 155 and it just stopped. went from 8-10 pounds every month to nothing just like a switch was thrown.

It was jarring when it happened but when i pulled my head out of my ass and looked at where i was i realized i was already finished with the race and just forgot to stop running.

I wish you all the best and hope you squeeze all the life out of the new you that you can.

Now lets both of us Move on.

I adore people who just tell it like it is.

I pretty much did exactly that. So, here's what happened, after a couple more weeks I woke up one day and a couple pounds we're gone. No changes on my part. Then a few days later, another pound gone. It keeps happening. I've changed nothing. I've now been at 134 for a few days. I've changed nothing. I bought a belt, though, because I sure as heck can't afford to buy yet another whole wardrobe!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
