So I have been stalled pretty much for the past two months and it scares the blank out of me - anyone else in the same boat here with me? Back to the basics for me, back to diving into this forum for support and inspiration. I know that I have ventured to far off into things I shouldn't eat and am aware of the error of my ways. Definitely got to keep those small bags of chips out of my house (the rest of the family will just have to go without) as they always call out to me in a weak moment and they being a slider food well they are freezing my weight in the moment.. Water -gotta start tracking again .. I have been limited in exercises per other medical problems (shoulder surgery & hernia)and not able to do any weight training but am thinking if I just do lots of repetitions of small weights and increase my walking. I need to lose another 10 lbs in a month so I can get my abdominal incisional hernia repaired. This hernia has haunted me for a very long time and is the reason why I got the sleeve surgery in the first place as Surgeons would not repair the hernia until I lost a bunch of weight as it was a previously repaired hernia with mesh that had to be cut through for another surgery that eventually became another hernia that has haunted me. AS I lose the weight it becomes more prominent. I call it my little monster. :( Also been dealing with some emotional stuff as I was just recently diagnosed with PTSD due to trauma and Major Depressive Disorder so I have been working on not eating my feelings and am working with professionals to get that back under control as well. So 9 months later, I am currently at a cross road in my journey and hoping to get back on the right path. Hoping to find that I am not alone and that others may be dealing with the same.

Can the surgeon repair an epigastric hernia at the same time as performing the VSG ? I'm hopping to get VSG in 2-4 weeks. Down 50 lbs but still 310.

I’m very excited and happy for you and your success. I’m also quite jealous. But that’s ok. I had my surgery Dec 26, 2018. Highest weight 306. Day of surgery 285. So many similarities. However, I’m only down to 219. But then I’m also 65 years old and been overweight for 37 years. My fat is comfortable and loves me and doesn’t want to go easily. Ha!
First goal is 185 -losing 100 lbs. then on to 165 or less. Can hardly wait!
You keep on doing great! Keep your eyes on the prize of a healthier, happier you!

Coexister- I have found the “inspire”

Protein crunchers and s’mores Cookies to be a lifesaver against bad food choices ! Tons of protein and a bag satisfies !

I haven't been on here in awhile. Just wanted to give an update. This morning I finally hit Onederland. Such a great feeling. Still have a little bit together, my Doctor is extremely happy with my results, as when I first met with him last September I was 345! Weight loss has def. slowed down, but if i stick to my plan it hopefully it continues to track downward.

Wonderful day and Wonderful accomplishment @imsarah18- much Congratulations from an old chick(73) who started out at an unlovely 365+ and 13 months post-RNY surgery is 181, my last 6 pounds to goal are going S- l- o -W l y off but even if THEY don't budge, I AM STILL PROUD OF ME and the way I have gone, even crawling at times, toward a better longer LIFE , there were many moments I almost Gave Up on ME, but turned out I am a Strong Gusty and Gutsy Old Broad After All. Not Perfect but Trying Hard to be a SUCCESS and YOU WILL BE ONE ALSO! Best Wishes from your bari- Bud *FRUSTR8*

I had my surgery 12/10/2018 and I am at goal weight. Before surgery weight somewhere north of 320, (I would t weigh myself but the one time I did I saw the scale hovering at 32—- and I quickly stepped off) day of surgery 294 and today 164. I have went from a size 24 to size 8. I feel amazing. Pictures of me April 2018, September 2018 and September 2019. I have quite a bit of loose skin on my abdomen and inner thighs but I can live with it for now. I met with a plastic surgeon back in May and asked her what I could do to improve my overall body appearance and prepare for a Tummy Tuck and breast lift and she recommended pilates. I got a prescription from my primary care and my insurance covers most of the cost of pilates. I am addicted to pilates. I am slightly concerned I won’t be able to stop losing weight now that I met my goal. Does anyone else ever worry about losing too much weight?

Hi all, I hope you are all enjoying the ways that weight loss has impacted your lives. I know that I have much more energy, and I have become more outgoing. I am now a regular exerciser and miss it when I don't do it. I was sleeved December 20, 2018 and have lost 79 pounds and reached my goal of 125 lbs.

Oh Louise, Congratulations!!!! Getting our sleeves was truly a major game changer right!? Send us a snap shot of the new you! Here I am with my wire fox terrier, Bobby. I am definitely enjoying much longer walks and adventures with him! I'm 21 pounds from my goal. Love The Obesity Code by Jason Fung, MD and look forward to his new cookbook coming out. How are you maintaining besides exercise? Is your hunger back? So very happy for you. Wow. ;]

Hi Jeelena, first off... YOU LOOK FABULOUS!!! Congratulations! You had such a pretty smile then, and now - It simply radiates. You are stunning in your new gown. Nice arms, too. Thank you for sharing your process and specifics with us. Inspiring. I, too, have accumulated a lot of loose skin on my upper arms (¾ sleeves are a God send!) and very sagging breasts (another God send - a great supportive bra!) LOL!!! Wearing a size petite 8 or 10 jeans (2-3X before) but the mid-section droop does get in the way. The slight stretch in new generation slack/jean fabrics does help hold it all in!!! Petite medium to small tops with a 38C from 40DD. Experimenting with body foundations for the first time for wearing dresses. I rarely wore a dress before. I plan to start preparing, saving$ and interviewing plastic surgeons for a Tummy Tuck, hopefully before my 25th anniversary vow renewal + gala next May. I want this defined waist for my gown design below. :] I have not tried Pilates yet. I must follow-up on your recommendation for it as a new exercise routine. Actually, loved Water aerobics even hovering at my highest of 298. Oh boy. Remained pretty active + happy despite all the weight and baggage I carried. For now, I walk with my dog and remain very active with work. I am meeting with a physical therapist next week to review my back posture, gate and balance before starting any formal exercise. Adhering mostly to The Obesity Code way of nutrition. 80-100oz.+ of water or hot tea per day. Add propel and Isopure. 21 pounds until my final goal BUT others who have already had plastics say 5 - 8 pounds can be attributed to the weight of loose skin. Factoring that in, I'm only 16 pounds to goal. LOL. Probably as a petite 5'0" and shrinking with age (turned 60 past May) - losing too much weight, not really. Some research says I should weigh 105 - 112. Will cross that bridge when and if I get there. Jeelena, how are you finding maintenance? Are you still losing? Keep up your wonderful achievement. Sending posies in way of celebration with you! ;]

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
