I am 6 weeks post-op and I was feeling great until suddenly this week my shoulders and upper back are killing me. Anyone experiencing or experienced something like this? They feel so heavy.

I get days like that also. I think it may have to do with low Protein and Water intake. You know some days I do great eating and some days I can't eat a thing. Be good to yourself today and give your body what it needs, maybe just some rest.

I was getting cramps in my calves, but it can happy to any skeletal muscle group when you're post-op. It's usually a sign that your electrolytes are out of balance. Try drinking some sugar free gatoraid or poweraid and maybe add potassium to your supplement list.

Yes, Sara and Louise! I, too, have had those same eerie weird symptoms upon my shoulders which feels like a heavy pressure, then a following drain out. I am 5 weeks post. It seems to surface most while walking or working at the kitchen island. Let's go make a propel Water which contains electrolytes and see if that helps? So glad you raised this concern. Thank you.

Hey everybody. I’m in need of some advice or at least some other’s thoughts. Steadily lost 1+ pounds a day. Was so excited at my 2 week check up. At that time, dr added puréed foods. I’ve totally stalled since then. Haven’t dropped a single pound! Suddenly I’m having TROUBLE drinking Protein Shakes. They just do not want to go down. And I know I need it to have enuf Protein. Help?!?!?

We’ve all had the 2-3 week stall. U can eat again andnpurees go down easier and u can drink / eat more . It’s normal. I found that u can get through the stall if U kick up ur exercise and break a sweat with brisk walking or spinning or something that gets ur heart rate up. And just watch the calories, carbs and Protein grams . Keep to 600 calories and over 60 gnofnprotein and under 50g of carb. Get in ur 64 oz of liquid. It will break , only weigh urself once a week

I had my surgery 12/12 as well! I am honestly not sure how I am doing, and it is still hard most days, but overall I think I am glad I did it. :)

Lolo -I’m pretty sure it’s the fact I’m not getting enuf Protein. Got yo fall in love with shakes again. I just wanna barf! Sad.

You might be right that you're not getting enough Protein, but you if you're not keeping track of what you eat in an app like MyFitnessPal that will tell you how much protein, fat, carbs etc you have eaten, you're just guessing. Nothing wrong with having Protein Shakes, but the faster you can transition to getting your protein from real food--the better. Are you able to tolerate eggs? ??? Crab meat is also essentially pure protein (no carbs or fat).

Has anyone tried the patch Vitamins? I really hitting a wall with the chewable. I can barely eat them anymore. Have three flavors, caramel, chocolate and cherry. I just start to gag on them. Having a little issue with Protein Shakes to. Guess to much of a "good" thing. Doing some Protein waters to mix it up. Going to gym too....elliptical, treadmill, weight machines for legs arms and free weights. When safe to do abs? Consistently worked out before surgery...miss the abs. Has released me to swim though. 6 weeks today..

I was weighting my self regularly until last week. I’m five weeks out and was losing a pound a day until last week once I switched to regular foods. I stalked. I was so frustrated so I started walking and using my elliptical waited a week and I lost 3 pounds. Also this week i can finally drink more Water. I’m now up to 48oz at least a day. I was definitely dehydrated I figured that was why I stalled. Hearing that others have gone though this helps a lot. I was worried.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
