4 months post op--disney??

Recommended Posts

No one can predict the future or how anyone will react to surgery, but I am 4.5 months out and can do that trip no problem. I have been to two amusement parks, a Water park, all 2-3 months out with no ill-effects, I didn't slow anyone down nor get sick. The one thing i will say is that food will be a b*t ch. Watching every one eat without issues is tough and if you even try to keep up in that respect, you are going to get yourself sick. If you feel like you have the Iron will to resist the Disney goodies(no more than a taste) then I say go for it and have a great time.

Just curious for myself.... You went to Amusement parks 2-3 months post? Did you happen to ride roller coasters and such? I had surgery 8/20 and we already had / have our vacation planned for Universal in October and that was one of my concerns. I think I'm ready to hop on a roller coaster again, but maybe a little scared of internal injury. LOL... I'm probably overthinking and if it wasn't for Hurricane florence this weekend, I'd be checking out our first official night time Halloween themed Amusement rides. My next post-op is a 9/26 so part of me is willing to wait to ask them first before riding anything "fun"

Yes, I went on roller coasters. Granted, they were tame ones. But I had no problem.

At four weeks out, barring weird complications or anything, my surgeon clears folks to lift weights. I bet they'll clear you for the coasters, @MargoCL!

And @Ivy Joel, they wouldn't have invited you along if they didn't think of you as part of the family already. You are definitely focusing a lot more on this "not a blood relative" thing than they are. As an anxious person, myself, I know it does zero good to be told "don't worry so much," so I won't do that to you. But just know, they want you there! So even if you do have to take things a little slow, or whatever--four months out, I kind of doubt you'll have to, but even if you do--that's OK. Families make allowances for each other. (Or, well, they should.) ❤️

Odds are you’ll be okay. Maybe spend the extra on travel insurance with a cancellation refund just in case. Have fun!

So I just hit my 4 month and other than my emergency gallbladder removal I am totally able to engage in “normal” activities. Yes I eat way less and don’t drink but being active is worlds better.

At 12 weeks I went on a trip to Eastern Europe for 2 weeks and other than I was still very much trying to figure out how to eat to get my needs I had no problems. My energy levels were amazing and I could walk all day. Stairs still got me.

Start saving for a new wardrobe as you’ll likely be down enough you won’t fit into your current clothes. (Unless you have a closet of different sizes).

I do have a closet of different sizes. In high school it was easy to stay fit i did crew and field hockey and i kept all those clothes. I am just hoping that because I am 26 and my starting weight is 240 that i will be ok after 3.5 months.

Surgery 6/21, down 40 lbs so far, absolutely no issues with anything so far. Going to Disney end of this month, at the 3 month mark, and also have the dining plan. I plan to enjoy myself but still try to make certain I get enough Protein and exceeed my daily Water needs. I’m taking my GENEPRO Protein Powder and some sugarfree pudding cups (the non-refrigerated ones), so if I don’t feel like I made my protein for the day it’s easy enough to add 10-30g of protein to a cup of pudding before bed. Since you’re with so many others you won’t be wasting food when you can’t finish more than a small portion of your meal cuz they can help out lol. Especially the free dessert with dinner. Enjoy a bite or two, if your tummy can handle it than share with others. Same with the alcohol. I don’t drink but get a wine with my dinners and my husband can enjoy it after I try a sip or two. I’m at least 50-60 lbs own from last trip there a few years ago and looking forward to not worrying about if I’ll fit ok in the rollercoaster seats. Last time missed out on one of them. Stay safe in the storm right now, Good luck with your surgery and have an awesome vacay!!

At 2 weeks post op I hated my life and thought I’d made the biggest mistake of my life. At 3 months post op I’m running 3 miles every other day loving every bit of my life. While every person is unique, I think if you follow the program you’ll be fine.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
