I have had mine for nine years. Going to the sleeve hopefully as soon as my insurance approves it. Same with me. last three years hell. Was living life and loving life then one day I just started vomiting. My insurance would not pay to have the band removed so my surgeon just unfilled it. I have lived on liquids for the most part once in a while I get a good meal in but even empty its still tight. He said most bands are an 80 percent failure rate by year ten. I have gained all my weight back but I can't eat healthy. Its the most ridiculous thing in the world. Good luck with your removal. I would not just have mine removed without converting. Life has been pretty miserable.

I had LB back in 2003 and all went well until about 2006 when i had a slip and had to have my band replaced as I could not even keep Water down.

Now I am having the same issue. I have nothing in my band but cannot keep foods down, cannot eat in the morning and sometimes even my morning coffee does not stay down due to the accumulation of saliva from during the night.

I have gained a little weight back because I’m basically not eating any more, except ice cream and anything that melts in my mouth and stays down.

I am worried that if I go back to my Dr they won’t replace the band again and take it out and I know I won’t cope with them taking it out.

Banded in 2011, revised to bypass this past March, best decision ever.

Sorry to hear you have problems but tbh my op is now tomorrow 7-8-18! I am so sick of being ill and reflux etc I actually looking forward to having band removed as past 3 yrs has been awful:(. People say all the Tind having a band is easy etc until you explain in detail everything that goes with it sick n pain etc then they go oh I never knew this my friends have watched me suffer n happy for me that I can hopefully get some relief with Removel as mostly so bloody tired all the time due to lack of food it has ruined my social life too ,,,

It's been a bit of a struggle this last week...I'm hungry ALL the time.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
