Another day, another salad.

This time i just ate from the middle cuz thats where all the crispy onions were 😂

489 calories for the whole bowl, im guessing i ate about a 1/4 of it? Ill eat the rest later regardless.

You make the best salads! I love salads. But can never get that creative with the ingredients. I’ll be stalking your food posts for help lol just letting you know. I’m about to enter the purée stage which I’m salivating for.

@ms.sssDo you Fitness pal (free or paid) to log your food? Or some other app?!

I use the paid version of MyFitnessPal.

Though I could probably be just fine with the free version. I got the subscription cuz the macros info not provided in the free version was useful during weight loss phase (i am only concerned with total calories now).

i may cancel someday if i ever get around to it, lol 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nice to see some new participants and food posts regardless of stage! So glad you've joined in... Baked some turkey thighs Sunday - Enjoying the dark (my favorite) meat on salads this week. Trying to get away from the sodium in luncheon meats. Even low sodium white turkey breast brands seem too salty for me. Definitely more convenient, but trying to put in the effort! Haha. Marinated turkey in juice from naval orange, olive oil, sage, rosemary and thyme with a handful of cranberries. This salad makes two meals.

If you have one, Winn Dixie has rotisserie Turkey and chicken that they will slice for you at the deli. I never asked about sodium but I don’t think they add alot or junk to it because the calories are very low as best as I can recall.

Had lunch with two girl friends yesterday - the three of us have had sleeve surgery over the last 2-4 years. We found a lovely yum char restaurant & shared these 3 delicious steamed scallop, spinach & roe dumplings, 6 duck pancakes (the pancake was too heavy for me so I only had 1) & 3 unpictured steamed prawn dumplings. The waiter actually asked if that would be enough food for us to share. Made us chuckle.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
