Okay guys! It worked! I pooped haha after the MoM .. could being constipated be a reason why I gained 1 pound from yesterday to today?

Oh sure it could or some Water retention. Those are normal fluctuations of your weight. Hey, sweetie try to NOT weigh everyday and be a slave to your scale. Happy it worked for you. You can usually count on MOM for relief.

MoM does the job every time! And it could be a combination of that and natural weight fluctuations or Water. Glad you got some relief though!

Does/did anyone experience pain when eating? I don’t mean in our stomach but right after you swallow as it goes down

Hi! New as heck! I will be a week post OP tomorrow. This group just looks like a fantastic idea. I wish I had joined the site before my surgery.

I feel like I'm burping basically every time I drink anything, and its way harder to burp that it was before?
Also I was HANGRY as heck today. I'm hoping I can mitigate that better. I feel like keeping a jug of Bone Broth on me at all times just in case. .
I sort of skimmed the last 40 some pages, but does it seem like really watery poops are normal?

ANYWAY, Thanks for making the topic! Looking forward to the journey!

I haven't when swallowing, but another of the women from the class I took Pre-OP has said that her throat was Very raw after surgery, could that be it?

Could be they did an endoscopy to check to see if all went well from the inside. Hope it goes away and you feel better soon. Good luck.

Maybe it's the difference between liquids and solids, well puree. You may need some time to get used to it. If it bothers you quite a bit you should call your surgery team and ask about it.

Question
I am 3 weeks Post Op and Sat evening I started having discomfort/pain 2 inches or so above my large incision. I felt like I needed to hold it just to walk.. I was fine before that day. I must mention, I did a lot of walking that day.... more than usual. I called my Dr and I’m going in tomorrow, but wanted some insight from anyone that experienced this before.

Yeah! I've felt something like that when walking too much or moving too much, I'll be 3 weeks on wednesday, could be that we used the abdominal muscles and they weren't ready to be used 😂

I had that too! Felt like I had a torn muscle or something in my stomach, I think they’re just rebuilding and regrowing? I’m two weeks out!

It's been a bit of a struggle this last week...I'm hungry ALL the time.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
