June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

Recommended Posts

Annie93,

We have the same surgery date, tomorrow is my last shake day and Sunday is Clear Liquids and bowel prep. I am looking forward to surgery just so this pre-op diet can end. I have been starving myself since the 28th. My resting heart rate is now 44. I was finally able to move some more, getting 15,000-20,000 steps in, but then stopped losing weight. My shin splints are almost all the way better, I just have to walk slowly and pay attention to my mechanics, going 2.0 on the treadmill. I know surgery is scary, but I think you are in good hands and will be okay. We can do this together. I report at 8:45am, but my surgery is scheduled for 11:00am. I am assuming they will probably be running late. It is the middle of the night and I just finished a cup of broth hoping it will put me to sleep again...

Let’s definitely keep in touch! We can be surgery buddies. No in really knows about my surgery. I don’t want anyone to give me their opinion! Haha I also don’t want my mom to freak out on me.

Folks, I'm a "June Sleever" but from 2017 (June 30 2017). It's been one of the best decisions in my life. I'm down 66 kg (145 lbs) from my vist dr. visit and (56 kg 123 lbs) since surgery. Follow your doctors advice to a "Tee" and it will work without fail. you'll have stalls( don't freak out), find a way to exercise (partner, trainer something), drink Water as much as you can (and it you can't Crystal light was my saving grace in the summers when I was over water). Eat your Protein first , take your multi Vitamin.

First day was the worst ( I wondered what I did), had lots of worries (but don't anymore), don't crave food anymore either. I didn't tell a lot of people (including our kids) and went off for a week on "holiday"... we have one daughter that has a tendency to be chubby and we didn't want her to think this was an "easy option". Amazingly when she saw me losing so much, she got motivated and went low carbs and is now a fit 17 year old (she lost 12 kg about 26 lbs since middle of feb). I don't think I'd do anything different. I'm 3.5 kg from my original goal and may make it by surgery anniversary.

Wishing you all the best and may you have as good if not better results!

Hi Everyone. Just checking in. I was sleeved Weds and went home today. I don’t want to scare anyone - but it has been a rough few days for me.The has pushing against my diaphragm was bad. I did feel a bit better yesterday and today it’s still slow going , but tolerable! Sorry for the typos - I’m on Percocet and do not have my glasses on. I other 6/6ers have done well! So far, Luke warm beef broth and zero cal propel are my friends.
Thank you for the news ! I was sleeved on the 5th and it was not as bad as you, but definetely not easy - and way harder than the 2 week liquid diet ! Take all the drugs you need and don't forget this is temporary. You'll be on your feet in no time. Keep up updated :)

STICK TO YOUR DIET! The first thing my surgeon said when i woke up was “you did an EXCELLENT job of shrinking your liver.”

Day three post for me. It is getting better by still rough. I had my first Protein Shake today and it went down fine. I originally didn’t want to use the pain meds - but they are really a life saver. Not sure that I would be able to get the walking in without them. Later today I will venture on with Apple sauce or cream of chicken Soup. No appetite for food at all!
Gully90 are you hanging in there? This is definitely not the easy way to lose weight! Again- sorry for typos! I’m so glad we have this forum to share all!

So glad everyone is figuring out ways to stay hydrated. I was sleeved 6/6 and thought I was fine until this morning when I felt I was going to faint. Apparently I’m not drinking enough. Realized my urine was dark and my mouth is dry. Called the dr and she said drink my Protein Water and even tho I’m on only Clear Liquids I can have one Protein Shake as long as it’s not chunky (premier protein) feeling much better but that was scary

Sorry to hear that Muzikmiss. Do you know how much you were drinking ? Keep sipping and I hope you'll feel better with the Protein Shake.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
