Pureed food recipes?

Recommended Posts

Just started blended week. I didn’t have many ingredients (will go to store later today) so I stopped and got chili from Wendy’s and blended it. The nutritionist recommended it. It was good but a half a cup probably only had 8g Protein so I am going to try adding Protein Powder, Beans, or chicken to next batch.

This may be harder than liquids!

I hope I am not overstepping as I am still post-op, but I’ve experimented with recipes so I have an Arsenal of options after I do receive my surg. I’ve successfully been able to “hide” the Isopure unflavored Protein powder. I don’t always add a full scoop though. Sometimes just half so it doesn’t overpower. I purchased a mini-crockpot to make smaller meals (I’m wicked obnoxious about eating leftovers) and slowly cook chili or thicker Soups at a low temp to avoid protein clumping.

My nutritionist said Wendy’s chili was ok...I puréed it and it was good.

I puréed brown sugar oatmeal packet with Protein milk and added a scoop of protein powder and that has been my daily Breakfast.

i tried a recipe with chicken (chicken, salsa, chili seasoning, low fat sour cream) and ate most of it but not recommended.

I pureed eggs with a little low fat mayo and avacado and it was good, but you can’t eat too much of it.

I think purée was harder than liquids!

staring “soft” tomorrow.😊

I made a lot of homemade chili. Ground turkey full of Beans during purée and even after. It’s my goto meal.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
