Sadly, as skin stretches, it actually grows. So at a certain point there is just no returning.

My guess would be at 3 years, it isn't going to change on its own. You don't say how old you are and age is a factor with skin "snapping" back. I've been to meet with a plastics doc and was told that while I can lose some more fat, potentially, the skin is always going to hang and flap. I'm trying to decide when I want to have the surgery done.

Yup skin doesn' tighten like that regardless of age , or gym work the body doesn' cannialize skin cells.

That's probably the one thing I am not looking forward to but it is inevitable. But, if I had to trade being at health weight and having extra skin with being morbidly obese, sh1t, I'll take healthy weight anyday.

I can already see loose skin and I’m not happy with it. I’ve always felt like clothing needs to give you shape, even when I was at my heaviest, and I don’t like the “shape” I’ll be showing the world when there’s obvious excess skin. Plus I’d like to not have to wear a wetsuit to my son’s swimming lessons! I will definitely look into plastic surgery if the skin hasn’t snapped back into place in a year or two.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
