I’m hypersensitive to nausea and the bariatric ones put me over the edge, bad. I take a women’s Gummy that has Biotin and Calcium. My 4 month blood tests came back great so despite them having a small amount of sugar in them, they’re the only ones I can tolerate.

Is there any chance I can use my Centrum Women senior formula and double up on them? They do agree pretty well with me and then supplement with B12 and Calcium? It would save money as I bought a pretty large size. When. you are on a fixed income you want to budget wisely yet not imperil your health.

Are they chewable? If they aren’t you can crush them. The Vitamins are totally fine but I’d still double check with dosing with your md. The problem would be with the size if they aren’t chewable. Crushing them and putting them in apple sauce or something wld be the solution if they aren’t chewable.

oddly enough the paperwork i was given said any name brand Vitamins so long as chewable , no gummies allowed.

It is funny we all had the "Same" surgery but the process is different as can be. The Standard seems to be very wide with a lot of latitude.

get your protein- but the amounts very alot

get your vitamins - but what kind -how much - how long to take them all variable. just follow your doc.

Was just remaking on the varied medical approaches i have noticed from reading the forums these last months.

i know we are all different but these are not personalized instructions there handouts to ever patient the surgeon see's.

oh well not really what you asked about anyway so i should have just moved on.

Yeah, the nurse practitioner who works with the bariatric patients wasn’t too thrilled that I use them but she told me just to make sure they are completely macerated before I swallow. They are the only ones that don’t make me sick so I chew, chew and chew and then chew some more!

Flintstones chewable with Iron twice a day

I started those. I tried the bariatric fusions and blech...I almost threw up and I haven’t even had surgery yet!

My surgeons NUT gave a list of chewables. Included in list is the Trader Joe's brand, Bariatric Advantage, Celebrate Vitamins, and a couple of others I can't recall. I asked about gummies, and was told they aren't complete enough. I'm struggling with the chewables, they make me nauseous, so I looked up gummies. It looks like my NUT was right, not nearly as many Vitamins and minerals as the chewables.

I kept drinking the one they were giving me at the hospital which is Centrum liquid.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
