I only know she said she "didn't make my bypass length very long." :( I guess cuz of my lower BMI/weight?

That’s interesting. She didn’t mention any specifics? I remember reading a post somewhere on here and the lady mentioned that she has a 3M bypass as she struggled with weight her whole life. Her surgeon must discussed that with her as from my understanding the standard is 2m. No right or wrong in any of it, I’m just curious

I just had surgery this past Friday. My surgeon bypassed 2m he said anything more than this can cause

severe malnutrition later on.

Just curious, and did your surgeon discuss this with you?

I believe there are many factors for length sizing, height, ethnicity and if it’s a revision vs 1st time bariatric surgery. I’m scheduled for Apr 11 and discussed length size with my doctor.

My surgeon said the average he usually does is about 1/3 or about 100cm. For me he wanted to do about 1/2 or 150cm to give my weight loss a little more momentum. He discussed this with me at my pre-op appointment and i agreed. My surgery was on the 27th of March and he ended up bypassing about 160cm!

Interested to hear what the doctor had to say about various lengths - pros cons and what not. My doctor bypasses 200cm but I didn’t know this until after the surgery. It seems to be on the higher end of what’s normal.

Flew home today and it was quite a journey, it took 3 1/2 hours to cross the border almost missed my plane I felt like OJ in the airport and I was literally exhausted with no energy. I feel dehydrated. My pain during the flight was miserable. I felt more pressure in the air.

Surgery was Wed, Apr 11 wt: 195, Pre liquid wt: 207. Friday checking out of the hospital wt: 210 Hoping that was all the liquids I was pumped with, 15lbs in 2 day. Too exhausted right now but will weigh myself in the morning.

I can honestly say I felt worst after the sleeve in 2011 then mgb in 2018. Mbg was more tolerable for me and less pain.

My overall length was 8ft for my revision. I’ve been drinking slow slow slow, my fear of dumping.

It has hit me today, as I sit in my chair at work that I don't have my belly sticking out to where it would hit the desk. Oh and I can cross my legs more comfortably. It amazes me just how much I have loss in inches vs actual pounds, I have lost 24 lbs all together. But I believe in inches all over about 3 inches. I am noticing more energy and have pep to my step. My skin is a lot clearer. My watch band is shorter by 3 notches. the little things are what I am noticing. When I bend over I don't feel out of breath or I am going to fall over ( weeble wobble).
I am having a hard time with my sweet tooth, it is very hard to not want to get some ice cream or chocolate. Candy I can do without. I have no craving really for that, just chocolate and ice cream. I have gone as far as taking Popsicle and putting them in my mixer with almond milk and making like ice cream with that/ sometimes I have added un-flavored protein powder.
I feel better everyday. The energy is great to have with having younger kids and being able to have the energy to keep up. 😃

If anyone has any advice on how to make your stomach feel better after you eat something you shouldn't have or at too fast, I would GREATLY appreciate it!! It's painful on both sides of my abdomen (like to the point I'm doubled over and using a hot water bottle in addition to medicine) and I'm really nauseous (the thought or smell of food is 🤢).
