Questions about the sleeve

Recommended Posts

Hello, My name is Jamiea. I am actually in the process of scheduling a surgery date. I have done my research found a Great surgeon. But i have something that worries me, I know at least 3 different people that have been sleeved. They lost the weight which is great but it seems like one of them lost to much weight to the point of her looking sick. I really don't want this to happen to me. Did she do something wrong are does that just happen sometimes?

Your Surgeon's office will give you information on risks. They will also monitor your weight loss. Losing too much weight is rare.

You would have to ask the person who looked "sick" if they had complications or health issues.

Betcha that lady had other things going on. I could understand being,a little pale, we're, in the Northern Hemisphere it's winter and a lot,of us aren't getting much sunlight. Tired, well you're recovering from major surgery, a great stressor on your body. I'll probably will have both of these but I intend to have a big sh**eating grin on my face and,i bet nobody will notice those 2 things. Looking forward to the day my boxer waist, pants fall down to the floor. And I'll wear t-shirts without visible globs and lumps, showing above and below my bra line. Shoot I might even get some new bras to,replace the tired stretched out ones I have now. I'm going to be strong and fit enough to compete in the Senior Olympics if not the regular one. Maybe they were treating that super thin lady for anorexia but I'm willing to bet she's not a post-sleever.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
