Getting so discouraged!

Recommended Posts

I started out at 232 and between the liquid diet and then the gastric bypass, I went to 210. Now I’m 5 weeks post op and haven’t lost a pound since week 3. This can’t be it, right?!

That's exactly what happened to me. It's a stall, it's normal. You will lose again.

Honestly, stalls can last anywhere from a week to months.

I stalled (Months) and then gained 6lbs when I started lifting. Granted that was muscle. After months of gaining and growing my muscles and getting my body strong, I started adding more cardio and I am losing like I did the first month of surgery.

Take a look at what you are doing. It could be something that you changed recently that may need to be changed back.

Don't get discouraged, if you do some research on this forum you'll find thousand of posts regarding this topic. You are not alone, we all go through stalls, some people lose weight faster than others but that doesn't mean the ones losing slower are wrong.

Make sure you are drinking enough Water and reaching your Protein goals. If you are doing things right you will continue to lose weight.

I had a stall at 3 weeks too. My weight loss has been mostly slow and steady; although there was one week where I lost 9 lbs. I have been hoping that will happen again.

What you are experiencing is normal. It’s easy to become frustrated and disappointed. I’ve been there too. As you follow the plan you’ll lose weight again and you may stall again. It’s all part of the process.

You’ll be okay. You will get past this stall and you’ll lose weight. Hang in there. This too shall pass. 🦋

I just joined this group because I had the same question about stalling. 4 weeks post-op and I have been playing with the same 1/2 pound - pound for about a week. I have just started with the soft foods so I was thinking maybe because I am putting more in it will slow down a bit.

You are all so encouraging!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
