Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

For me, the most difficult milestone so far has been giving up caffeine. I can’t wait to have coffee again someday.

My plan requires a 10 day liquid pre-op diet. Tonight marks the end of day 5 and I’ve lost 9 lbs. While I’m exhausted at night- I feel pretty good during the day. Around day 3, I stopped even thinking about meals because I’d gotten use to the hunger pangs. I have to remind myself to get my Protein intake.

I don’t know if I’ll be this lucky on day 6 but so far so good.

I get sleeved on Monday- I cannot wait!!

Planning to do some serious purée meal prepping this weekend.

So nice to hear all the success stories so far!!

Hey guys!! I had my follow up with my Specialist today. They did a body composition and showed how much not getting all my Protein in was hurting my body post surgery. My body is using my muscle for energy!!! Not my fat reserve. So I've decided to get serious. This little cup is what my body can tolerate at one time. That's 2oz. I mean- I feel like I could eat that in one bite BEFORE. What are some of your go to Protein favs that you'd like to share?

Hey there, was that a DEXA scan?? This is something I'm interested in doing as part of establishing my long-term goal.

Still on Protein Shakes, so I don know what works after surgery. But I plan on starting with stuff like cottage cheese, greek yogurt, eggs, mashed Beans, tuna salad, chicken salad. My material says to add Protein Powder to things like applesauce, mashed bananas, etc.

Today is Day 8 for me, and I started Protein Shakes yesterday. In general, it didn't go that well: my go-to shakes didn't taste as good, and I felt overfilled the whole damn day. Today I am trying a different strategy, with smaller serving sizes, and I'm going to incorporate a PP shake split at 10 and 2 (I'm instructed to eat four meals a day). So far, so good. My first shake of the day is 50% cold Decaf, 50% skim milk, and 1/2 scoop vanilla Protein powder, over ice.

And I went to MoM to get things moving last night -- that may help, too!

I have notice a lot of different things since being on this site. Find what works for you. For me I only have done Premier Protein shakes and the flavor I started with was strawberry cream and then I found I also liked Carmel and Cookies and creams. I also used Protein powder gene pro and I would put this in all my Water along with crystal light and all food that I consume

Tackle the Water in small, steady increments, and drink 1/2 Protein Shakes (or half bottle of premier protein) every 4 hours. I could manage 64 oz of Clear Liquids in one ounce increments by day 3, but not the added hit of the Protein Drinks, so good luck to you! Let us know what works for you!

So, I'm back to work today, two weeks after surgery (6th March). I've been really lucky that my recovery has been without issue so far i.e. no post surgery pain or discomfort to speak of as I write this!
My diet allows me to be back on regular food at this point, but it should be "mashable" or chewed to death before I swallow (probably stage 3 as defined on this site, but my dietician / surgeon don't use that term). That brings me onto where my head is at just now - what does my daily work food routine (snacks & lunch) look like. I'm on the road quite a lot (which is part of the reason my weight went where it did because I was always eating out), so I'm really conscious of starting on the right path and staying there.
There has been a great sense of community and energy in this thread so far and I'd be interested to hear what others are doing as they move through these food phases!

I started back to work part-time last Monday and full time this past Monday. So far, I've kept my diet to my Protein Shakes, tuna and today I added a hard boiled egg. That's the extent of my diet, and I'm satisfied for the most part. I use the Starkist Tuna Creations pouches so no refrigeration is needed. They're really convenient and inexpensive.

I went with some cold smoked salmon and avocado with a drizzle of lemon for lunch. I've also been trying out using Protein Powder with a Decaf coffee...haven't decided yet if it works for me ;)

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
