So yesterday I bought a 'goal' dress, not something I normally do, but it was too beautiful to pass up and I'm just sick of telling myself "no". I'm currently a size 26/28 and the dress is a size 20. Wanted to see how others changed in sizes during their journey so I can gauge a realistic goal of how far out post op I want to be able fit into my first nsv goal.

I started at a size 24/26 - I'm 5'10" and the majority of my weight is in my lower half. I'd say I was at a size 20 around....6-7 months out? It really depends on the style of the dress though and how you lose. I lost a lot in my upper body first so it felt like it took forever for my pants size to finally start dropping. Good luck to you! You'll be in the dress before you know it :)

I started at a size 16. I'm 5'2.5"

I lost in my bottom half before I lost anywhere else. I was two sizes down within 3 months. I was a 14 in Lane Bryant shirts by the time May hit. I had my surgery in April of last year. Now I'm a small in shirts. That took about... 7 or 8 months. I haven't really tried on dresses yet. Too cold but I plan to once the weather breaks.

But like the previous person said, it depends on where you lose and how the dress is made or cut. Some of these clothes are made weird as far as the sizing standards go.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
